So, I'm lucky enough to have made a friend at the office who's DTF. This is great. The only trouble is, I'm I'm at a loss for where to take her. We work downtown and are both otherwise attached, so something discreet, downtown and available during the day is key. Hotels are the obvious answer, I get that. But being the cheap bastard that I am, I'd rather avoid dropping $300 every time if I can. Does anyone have any experience using AirBnB for this? Or hotels that'll quietly offer an hourly deal? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Many hotels offer a "day" rate which is a substantial discount over their regular rates.
The only catch is that the room is only available for a few hours (usually from mid morning to 3 or 4 pm) - so you and your coworker have to able to get away during the day.

Yep. Day rates are the way to go and I have found that many downtown hotels offer them. Also - there’s is nothing to be embarrassed about asking for a day rate. Eg: You’ve been working on a deal and have been in the office 24 hours and just want a place to shower and have a short nap. Or you need a quiet room to work outside of your office for a few hours. Just call around. I’ve got day rates at even the King Eddy. It also depends upon the desk staff - I’ve found that sometimes a hotel will give me a curt “no we dont offer that” and then if I retry another time they’ll accomodate me. Also - if you are pre-planning vs a last minute lunchtime fuck then just look around for special rates on expedia etc and enjoy the room for the day (get an early checkin, have an afternoon quicky, and meet again before work the next day, then check out).
+1 for the day rate. You can get a decent hotel, for usually just over 50% of regular cost of room. And yes, no need to be embarrassed. In fact no need to offer an explanation at all for why you need a day rate. None of their business. Just phone up the morning of and ask if they offer a day rate. The availability of a day rate will depend on availability of rooms and what checkouts are planned that day. Given that most times most hotels have tons of empty rooms, you should have no trouble. There was a thread on day rates here a couple years ago iirc, try a search. Have fun. There is nothing better than sneaky hotel sex during the day. Nothing.
If you need a long term solution, you need to find one or two like minded buddies. One of you leases out a 1 bedroom condo, split the rent, split the ikea furnishing cost, have a cleaner come in once or twice a week to do laundry and towels and tidy up. Split the week up into predictable days that you guys own so you don't run into each other (or party together if you're into that). For the cost of a hotel once a week, you could have your own apartment with a friend. It also makes it a great outcall spot if you never wanted to invite a stranger to your place of resident. If you find a place with a decent gym and its close to work, you save on your membership too. I live downtown, my buddy lived in the suburbs. We found a place with a parking spot so he saved there too.

However I am a bit European in my approach to life. Discrete public car sex is somewhat popular in many parts of Europe. In fact, as cars are typically smaller there, most models have front seats that will go almost all the way back to be nearly flat.
