You see a few of them in every neighbourhood. Almost all are senior citizens. Their family don't want them inside the house so they park them on the porch 24/7 365 waiting for the inevitable. So sad.
Some of them are smokers but there is this one elderly gentleman (not a smoker) who is parked in a chair on the porch in the early morn and then retrieved late at night. Doesn't even read a newspaper. Just sits there staring aimlessly into the distance. Sad.Sometimes they're just the smoking members of the family.
Ok, happy porching. Hee, hee, hee. Insert "porch person" smilie here. It's a nice evening to be a Porch Person.
actually Rock, you're getting a little weird....more n usual. Some of them are smokers but there is this one elderly gentleman (not a smoker) who is parked in a chair on the porch in the early morn and then retrieved late at night. Doesn't even read a newspaper. Just sits there staring aimlessly into the distance. Sad.
If that is true, then it is all the fault of that 24/7 "porch person". (He is actually mobile and lucid, I have seen him move and have spoken to him.) It is just spooky to have someone who sits on his porch 24/7 who sees me in the morning when I leave the house and again when I return home at 3AM. Ever get the feeling that someone is "watching" you? I also have to acknowledge his presence every time I pass by his porch. Ever see that Seinfeld episode (you know the one)?actually Rock, you're getting a little weird....more n usual.
Enough time to veg in the winter time, trust me...actually Rock, you're getting a little weird....more n usual.
A lot of old timers just don't have much to do due to poor mobility, lack of mental ability, some don't like tv, or radio.....Yes it is sad when someone's life is coming to an end and their body is so frail they really can't do much anymore.
I will be honest, there are times I just want to sit and veg for a while. My new place is right on a slow lazy river and I tell ya, my favourite spot will be sitting on the dock on a lawn chair at the end of the day just watching the water go by.........
By the water.slow lazy river and I tell ya, my favourite spot will be sitting on the dock on a lawn chair at the end of the day just watching the water go by.........
Generally those old people are working as security at crack houses or meth labs. They are the alarm bell for the dealers/lab inside. When you see them outside - the lab is in operation. You see a few of them in every neighbourhood. Almost all are senior citizens. Their family don't want them inside the house so they park them on the porch 24/7 365 waiting for the inevitable. So sad.
I knew that old geezer was up to no good. Nobody sits on their porch 24/7 365.Generally those old people are working as security at crack houses or meth labs. They are the alarm bell for the dealers/lab inside. When you see them outside - the lab is in operation.
Rock - here's an idea - why don't YOU take him to the park, for a beer, whatever... We will all be judged by how we deal with the elderly, one day that might be you sitting on the porch. That fucking porch guy is driving me nuts. He just sits there on his porch 24/7. Damn! Get a life already. Go to the park or something. Damn!
Yes, something to think about. No, no smilie this time.one day that might be you sitting on the porch.
And, Rock, you never know what you might learn from actually talking with that old guy. It just might be worth spending a few minutes to find out. If you do, I hope you'll let us know what happens.Yes, something to think about. No, no smilie this time.
