I couldn't care less about paying one cent more, it makes no difference, but it's the hassle of having to go to the post office, wait in line, calculate how many stamps you need, etc... All for a penny for each stamp. I'd rather they increase it five cents every five years.
That, in essence, is what I'm frustrated about.
Retail outlets now have to carry 1 cent stamps in order to offset the amount of 50c stamps they have. It happened last year, and the year before that.
It's big pain in the ass when I have to go up to the counter, buy a 50c stamp and then be told that I need a 1 cent stamp but not available. It's ridiculous.
I don't blame the stores because if they buy 1c stamps, they will get stuck with them the next year around.
I used snail mail all the time. I pay my bills and send letters to my family in Korea. I don't own a credit card and I won't apply for one so I can't have online banking stuff. I don't have a credit card because I don't believe in buying stuff I can't afford with the cash in my own pocket. With the exception of a vehicle and home of course.
