When I use paper disks on CD's I find they work on some machines and not on others - but never have problems if I don't put a paper label on it. Epson now has a few printers that print right on disks that come prepared with a printable surface. Has anyone used them - what results?

i have used them, but you need to make sure the surface of the disc allows for inkjet printing. you can find them, rather scarcely, at places like futureshop, staples or best buy. i order mine online through blankmedia.ca.

does anyone know of any places here in toronto that sell these?

PS - which epson printer are you using? and, after printing on the surface, avoid touching the printed part for awhile.

Thanks guys ... I saw an Epson R200 for $120 today that looks like it can do the job. Ebay has tons of printable disks for sale.

I use the R300, no complaints whatsoever.

I buy my cd's in bulk from a place called the RAM group, located in Vaughan/Concord area. Kind of a distribution house for computers and accessories. They're in the phone book.

One thing that isn't all that well explained, is that you write the CD, then print on it. Best to wait 24 hours to use the CD if you can to make sure the ink dries properly. Don't try to put it back into the computer right away, ink WILL come off and foul up your CD device.
