Project 2025 is a plan to reshape the executive branch of the U.S. federal government in the event of a Republican victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.[2][3] Established in 2022, the project seeks to recruit tens of thousands of conservatives to Washington, D.C., to replace existing federal civil service workers it characterizes as the "deep state", to further the objectives of the next Republican president.[4] Although participants in the project cannot promote a specific presidential candidate, many have close ties to Donald Trump and the Trump 2024 presidential campaign.[5] The plan would perform a swift takeover of the entire executive branch under a maximalist version of the unitary executive theory — a theory proposing the president of the United States has absolute power over the executive branch — upon inauguration.[6]

The development of the plan is led by the The Heritage Foundation, an American conservative think tank, in collaboration with some 80 partners including Turning Point USA led by Charlie Kirk; the Conservative Partnership Institute including former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows as senior partner; the Center for Renewing America led by former Trump-appointee Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought; and America First Legal led by former Trump Senior Advisor Stephen Miller.[7][8]

Project 2025 envisions widespread changes across the entire government, particularly with regard to economic and social policy and the role of the federal government and federal agencies. The plan proposes slashing U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) funding, dismantling the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, gutting environmental and climate change regulations to favor fossil fuel production, and eliminating the cabinet Departments of Education and Commerce.[9] Citing an anonymous source, The Washington Post reported Project 2025 includes immediately invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807 to deploy the military for domestic law enforcement and directing the DOJ to pursue Trump adversaries.[10] Project Director Paul Dans, a former Trump administration official, said in September 2023 that Project 2025 is "systematically preparing to march into office and bring a new army, aligned, trained, and essentially weaponized conservatives ready to do battle against the deep state."[11]

Project 2025 consists largely of a book of policy recommendations titled Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise and an accompanying personnel database open for submissions. There is also an online course called the Presidential Administration Academy, and a guide to developing transition plans. Reactions to the plan included variously describing it as authoritarian, an attempt by Trump to become a dictator, and a path leading the United States towards autocracy, with several experts in law criticizing it for violating current constitutional laws that would undermine the rule of law and the separation of powers.[9] Additionally, some conservatives and Republicans also criticized the plan, for example in relation to climate change.[12]

I remember the episode of Star Trek TNG where the Q entity (YES, this is the origin of all the Q-anon garbage!) Introduces the Enterprise to the Borg. One of them materializes in engineering and Q says "He's trying to take over your ship, if I were you I wouldn't let him" I get that same vibe here...

R v Big M Drug Mart Ltd[2] (Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Canada v Big M Drug Mart Ltd) is a landmark decision by Supreme Court of Canada where the Court struck down the federal Lord's Day Act for violating section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This case had many firsts in constitutional law including being the first to interpret section 2.

On Sunday, May 30, 1982, the Calgary store Big M Drug Mart was charged with unlawfully carrying on the sale of goods on a Sunday contrary to the Lord's Day Act of 1906. At trial the store was acquitted, and an appeal was dismissed by the Alberta Court of Appeal.

The constitutional question put before the Court was whether the Act infringed the right to freedom of conscience and religion, if so, whether it is justified under section 1 of the Charter, and whether the Act was intra vires ("within") Parliament's criminal power under section 91(27) of the Constitution Act, 1867.

The Supreme Court ruled that the statute was an unconstitutional violation of section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, deciding that there was no true secular basis for the legislation and its only purpose was, in effect, to establish a state religious-based requirement, and was therefore invalid. The drug store's victory was made possible by section 52 of the Constitution Act, 1982, which provides that unconstitutional laws can be found invalid, as opposed to section 24 of the Charter, which is for those whose rights are violated. In as much as a corporation is not a natural person, it cannot have a religion and therefore the corporation's religious freedom was not violated.[3]

In that case, Chief Justice Brian Dickson wrote that this freedom at least includes freedom of religious speech, including "the right to entertain such religious beliefs as a person chooses, the right to declare religious beliefs openly and without fear of hindrance or reprisal, and the right to manifest religious belief by worship and practice or by teaching and dissemination." Freedom of religion would also prohibit imposing religious requirements.

The Lord's Day Act was the first law in Charter jurisprudence to be struck down in its entirety, and some of the section 1 analysis in the decision played a role in developing the "Oakes test" in the later case R v Oakes.

The Family: It's Not About Faith, It's About Power | Official Trailer | Netflix

It’s not about faith. It’s about power. The Family explores the history of a quietly powerful religious organization with strong ties to US politics.

“The Family” is a new Netflix docuseries exploring a conservative Christian group’s connection to the Washington, D.C. Journalist Jeff Sharlet is one of the executive producers and tells Soledad how this group has remained hidden in plain sight.

Charlotte Megachurch Pastor Rebukes Trump-Endorsed 'God Bless The USA' Bible: 'It's Blasphemous'

North Carolina megachurch pastor recently spoke out against the overemphasis Christians place on politics above God. Loran Livingston, lead pastor of Central Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, delivered a Sunday sermon to his congregation of about 6,000 people concerning the importance of studying Scripture rightly without outside interference from false doctrine. "I'm here to tell you that is a cheap ploy," Livingston began. "If your spirit can't tell the difference from your soul, you will think that is OK."

Per Relevant, He also noted how some Christians have become overly-political and spoke out against Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" Bible, which was recently promoted by former President Donald Trump.

"Some of you bring politics into the church. You think that politics is spiritual stuff. Politics is of this world. You think it's your duty to be political about this, that, and the other. No, your duty is to serve the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. Don't be talking to me about my spiritual responsibility to vote. I don't have a spiritual responsibility to vote. I have a civic privilege," the pastor explained.
"Don't be telling me that voting is spiritual. See, that's what happens when you don't read and pray. When you don't read and pray, you say, wow, there's a Bible out now that includes the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Isn't that wonderful? No. No, it's disgusting. It's blasphemous. It's a ploy. Are you kidding me? Some of you are so encouraged by that?"
"Let me tell you something. The gospel is not an American gospel. It is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ," he contended. Livingston also differentiated the U.S. Constitution and the Bible in pointing his church to what truly matters.
"But pastor, I bought the Bible. Really? You're telling me that you're encouraged because someone took a government U.S. Constitution, a document. That says we are of the people by the people and for the people, the people, the people, the people. And you have put it right beside the Word of God, which is eternal, unchanging, which says, of Him, by Him, through Him, to Him, from Him are all things. And you're going to put those together and be happy about it? God forbid." The pastor argued that Christians are too caught up in politics, and it is evident that they are lacking in their prayer lives.

"Now, you can get mad if you want to, but I'm going to tell you something. If you glory in that kind of thing, you don't have a prayer life," he told the congregation. "If you glory in that kind of mess, political mess, you do not know what the Word of God says. I'm going to rare back and tell you something: This is not my home. This world is not my home. I've been sent out just like the 70 were sent out. You've been put here and sent out just like the 70 were sent out. We've been put here as strangers and pilgrims, and we are passing through. I am just walking through."

"I'm just renting an apartment for a little while in this strange and foreign land. No sir, my real citizenship is in heaven from which we look for the Lord Jesus Christ," he asserted.

Can someone point to me recent incidents of enforcement
of religion by law in America? Has people been coerced into
attending Sunday school?

Not sure what standard you are talking about. If it
is the standard pertinent to freedom of religion I may
worry about my safety preaching Jesus Christ in certain
settings. But that is not my concern since I am not a Christian.

Where can I find such law enforced in Canada or the U.S. today?

So age-verification is required for watching porn. That is more
annoying than me having to declare I am older than 18 before I
can enter some escort's site. How about the ridiculous requirement
of retailers for ID before selling tobacco? LCBO asking for ID is
equally oppressive on young kids.

You must be paranoid about the influence of religion. For
me power grab by the conservatives is no more worrisome
than power grab by the woke.

You asked if people have been coerced into Sunday school.
Is that the only thing you will consider to be "enforcement of religion by law in America"?

That was my response to the title of the youtube video linked to
the OP which reads:

Project 2025: Sunday Observance Enforced By Law | Your Freedom Under Attack

I had no patience to watch a film longer than 1 hr and the
OP does not include a summary of it so I just assumed
Sunday school attendance is a part of enforcement of
religion by law talked about in the video.

So what exactly is Sunday Observance in the video and where
is it enforced in America and freedom of religion attacked?

For the record I did ask this in my post:

Can someone point to me recent incidents of enforcement
of religion by law in America?
I suppose it is understood recent incidents entail incidents
other than people coerced into Sunday school.

So excluding Sunday school attendance or Sunday observance
whatever it is how are people's freedom in America being attacked
by enforcement of religion by law.

I asked because you immediately followed that up with one and only one example.
Therefore it was necessary to figure out if that was a clarification of what you meant.

The abortion laws are the obvious answer for ones with immediate impact.

If you mean laws enforcing the practice of religion in terms of "Declare yourself Christian or face legal penalty", I do not believe there are any currently on the books.
