Hey all!

Not sure if this is the correct place to put this but here goes...

I just cancelled my rogers cable because I never watch cable and well, why pay for something you never watch?!?! Anyways, I was wondering what the difference is between the GB (I get what GB are) for PS3 consoles are and also what the difference is from PS3 and Wii's regarding GB?

I only found one Wii on futureshop at 149 for 32GB which is fine but also found a PS3 on bestbuy for 249 for 160GB.

I am not into the gaming aspect of the consoles but just for netflix -- thus, asking about how GBs play into the picture (I know I have to download the app for netflix for PS3 but not too sure about Wii?!?!--so why would GBs be important if I am just using netflix... okay maybe I might be playing super mario and mario kart but those are classics! *hehe*)

Anyways, thanks in advance :D

I have both a wii and a ps3 ( bought for wii fit and because I wanted a blueray player) and they are both set up for Netflix and I have no problem using either for streaming video... I think the ps3 has far more value to you as you can basically throw out your other DVD player and just use a ps3 for everything

Yeah what Monique said.

PS3 gives you more bang for the buck. Plus watching blu-ray in a good home theatre system is a better experience than going to cinema and hearing all the pop corn / douchebag noise.

PS3 is a better machine
-both have netflix
-both have built in wifi
-both play games (not important to you)

Here's where they differ
PS 3
also plays
-blu rays
-dvds
-cds
-if you burn mp3, or other media files onto a cd you can
a) play them
b) store them hon the hard drive this is where the GBs become more important
-if you want you can network the ps3 with your home computer and share files that way

-ps3 has an internet browser (not sure if wii does or not)
-ps3 has faster processing speeds so things work faster on it than the wii

Buuuuut if cost is a concern

Apple TV is about 120 dollars
=does netflix
=also allows you to order movies online I guess it's apple's version of Rogers on Demand. $5 or so for a movie that you can access online for two days
=has wi fi
-can interact with other i products if you have them

If you just plan to plug a PS3 or Wii into your TV to watch Netflix, all you need do is plug your PC or laptop into your TV to achieve the same results. There is no need to buy either PS3 or Wii to watch Netflix. Your PC or laptop will do that.

PS3 is the better unit because it does more than Wii but a laptop or PC will do more than both PS3 and Wii.

I don't really want my laptop plugged into my tv during school :) I like to have movies playing in the background when I am studying and writing a paper while my TV is hooked up to it isn't ideal :)

Thanks!

The Wii's 15 minutes of fame are so over, a lot of people bought based on the novelty of trying to introduce video games soccer moms and grandpa. A lot of people I know have theirs in a closet or under a shelf now, as for the PS3 what has been said above, you get so much out of it in one box that you dont really need to be a gamer at all and it is still the best blu ray player around.

Just wanted to say thank you to all for your suggestions and input :) It was much appreciated!

I made a final decision after going to Best Buy with all the info you all provided and asking the guys what was my best route with what I wanted to do and what my needs were :) They were extremely helpful, as all you were!

Have a good weekend all!
