I had a great resort there. Iberostar, large suite abou 1000 sq feet. One of the best facilities I have been too. The only thing is it is a place to relax. Night club action "0", and you need an armed guard to leave the resort.

Readin all this crap about the D.R. really makes me laugh. As somebody who lives 4 months out of the year in Cabarete (near Puerto Plata) I can honestly say that u are safer inthe D.R. than in most big american cities. And for the guy that said he drank a full bottle of "Mamawana." All I can say is that unless it was a very small bottle then bull___! A full bottle of this would likely kill you. Unless u guys are going to start making truthful comments it is better to keep your thoughts to yourself, after all it is better to keep quiet and let people think you're idiots than to open your mouths and remove all doubt!

I would like to hear more about Cabo San Luca. The Riu just built a new palace there that's opening at the end of the year. I love those hotels.

Hey Bill Cit on. You are so full of b.s. it is laughable. As for you having a better time in Cuba it must be because the chicas are more desperate and willing to do just about anything. In my experiences I have found Dominicans to be the friendliest people in the caribbean.
I agree. I was in the D.R. a month ago. Had a great time. the women were fantastic. But, like any place you travel, be smart use your common sense. Been to Cuba also, I personally prefer Dominican people.

Dominican is a joke. People expect you to give money to them whevever you go. Unless you know how to speak Spanish then its ok. If not, then forget about communication. The vendors hassle and haggle you trying to rip you off. They were trying to sell Cuban Cigars to the US tourist... but the Yankees weren't stupid. The Americans told them that they were fakes but the vendors insisted they were real. When the American try to leave, about 10 of the vendors buddies surronded the Americans demanding they buy the fakes or else. If yall wanna have a good and safe vacation stay the FUCK away from DR.

Hey, I'm not doubting what you are saying at all. I've been there 5 times now. And yes the vendors are a pain in the ass. But if you are polite and keep walking, no problem. Don't show any interest and they won't bother you. Maybe the American's tried to converse with them, that is a problem, because they see you as a potential customer. I've spent time in Sosua, Cabarete, Punta Cana and Puerto Plata, Be smart and have a great vacation. I always have. Been to many other Tropical destinations, and yes the people in many of these areas are very poor and only trying to make a buck. Read a book on World Travel, alot of good ideas on how to deal with these situations.
