Question about using the board

The last couple of days, I've taken it upon myself to learn a couple of things about using this board more effectively. For example, I've discovered the benefits of using the "mark this forum read" feature. I've also been very happy to discover how to put someone on my ignore list - mentioning no names, of course.

My question is the following - is there any way to put a whole thread on ignore, so that it doesn't show on the main forum page and it doesn't pop up in turn as I page through the forum using the "next thread" link?

There have been a few threads recently - say, any ones involving the WM word - that I'd be happy to not come across anymore.

Why would you want to put a mod on ignore? You'd miss all the fun comments, like "Stop spamming", "Calm the fark down you asshat" and "reply to me now, WNYTOFN, or you'll be banned."

Despite the fact you may have someone on "ignore" you may still stumble across their inane comments every now and then when they are quoted by another member. Allow me to demonstrate:

You're too sensitive, Mr. Mcfly. I'd never want to miss your contributions - I just wanted to take a pass on the Wal-Mart threads.
