NORMALLY I would be hesitant

But since it's Heather and she has established such a good reputation I might just waive my usual no CC usage rule.

I think restaurant/cafe is fine, because any man who doesn't want a paper trail for a wife/girlfriend to follow would use cash anyways. Single men wouldn't care about leaving a trail, and a restaurant/cafe name that appears on a statement is fine.

I suspect that a mere credit card voucher will not be sufficient evidence for a business write-off - at least under audit circumstances. There should be an actual transaction record, official invoice marked paid etc. which clearly shows the name of the company and it's HST number. I really don't think that you punters want to go there, and I doubt if you, Heather, want to get into that level of detail / record keeping, etc.

Cash is still KING!
Yes and you would have to show what the HST charge is on every invoice....

Single, as I am, or married as I was...I really don't need my bank or my cc company knowing all my daily movements. For certain kinds of transactions, I choose cash. Priceless!!

Im looking into a Moneris machine. This way I can take Visa MasterCard Amex and Debit.
I obviously will not have Heathers Touch on the receipts or show up on the statement. The question is, should I just use my numbered company or make up a name of a restaurant so if anyone sees the statement it is a good cover?? What are your thoughts to use as a good cover for a business name ? Also , would you use this machine? Thoughts and Ideas please!!!!!! xoxoxo Heather
I don't think either Moneris or your bank will allow you to "make up a name", they only deal with registered businesses. You could try to register the made up name, but you wouldn't get away with something like Canadiian Tire.

I would always use cash. Paper trail is bad news. But if I was single the advantages of debit and credit card would be great. As long as there is the cash option why not offer using credit/debit

+1 for credit card machine with an alias. I never have more than $20 cash on me and going to the bank before a session can be a nuisance.
