I'm not surprised at all. He has delivered two quarters at above 3% and other economic indicators are just as impressive. He needs to deliver the Wall to ensure his re-election. And if he puts a tariff on Mexico to finance it, he will be able to retire for the rest of the term and still win.

I can't believe you still think the wall is a possibility. Some would say naive to the extreme.
The Wall was the foundation on which his candidacy stood. The Wall is a center piece of his presidency.

Just wait until they negotiate DACA and immigration reform. The Dems can't allow the dreamers to be deported on the basis of partisanship.

He will get some funding out of this. It's why they delayed it to the New Year. Midterms.

Hahahaha.

44% and you guys are jumping with joy.
Still loses an election and likely the house this year.

Now that everyone is talking about Trump and his possible dementia don't expect those glorious mid 40's to stay for long.

Wow - talk about delusional - re-election ????? You guys are in your own little fantasy world. Oh look, look ! - Trump is slightly less unpopular as the the worst polled president in history ! He's done such amazing work - the longest run as president without any major legislation not to mention those artful negotiations that have isolated the democrats and leaders of all US allies. Without major legislation the market continued to rise from the depths of the recession that Obama (oops the Nigerian black man) had inherited so that's good .. not to mention there were no major airline crashes while Trump was president...

"he puts a tariff on Mexico to finance it, he will be able to retire for the rest of the term and still win." I hate to enlighten you to business realites least you crash down too hard from learning that Trump was so bad at running businesses that he had to raise funds though Deutsche bank (Russian money laundering) .... so let's keep your Trump illusions alive with this little bit of reality ..

If Mexico doesn't pay for the wall directly - then Trump once again lied (hard to believe for Trump fans). A tariff on goods does not directly impact Mexico at all. The money is paid by the companies importing the goods and by extension - the american people. If the tariff forces companies to manufacture /import from other countries (via the new tax incentives for companies off shore investments) - there is no tariff and the wall is not built.

Oh sorry - Trump celebrations ... Yes, Trump is now slightly less popular than before !!! Is it too soon to propose changing the name of the country from USA to Trump ??? I'm sure the narcisstic buffoon would love the gesture and after all ... no comets have hit the earth since he's been president !

Wow .. Trump can threaten to deport the 787,580 people who had been granted approval under DACA before he cancelled the program. What a fucking insensitive cocksucker ! Your hero .. this narcissistic insensitive piece of low life shit that you defend day in and day out with regurgitated FOX bull shit. You must be so proud of this aloof self absorbed asshole.

These DACA people have jobs, families and are tax payers - already perfectly vetted immigrants - yet their lives are turned upside down because this insensitive blowhard (who gave his gullible flock promises he can't keep) is hoping that law makers sensitive to the DACA plight will be emotionally blackmailed into funding his own outdated version of the China wall.

The great news for Trump supporters is that although these DACA and their families will suffer immeasurable hardship in a country foreign in language and culture ... they can't participate in the polls and Trumps poll numbers increase up slightly. Now if only we could get the blacks back to Africa as part of the Make America White Again - he will be a shoe in for re-election !

Actually Daca was an executive order. You know, the kind that makes Trump an autocrat? And he gave Congress enough time to enact into law the ability for them to stay.

And all the Dems have to do is agree to changes in the immigration system and some added funds.

Or they can sit on their collective asses and do nothing.

That's politics as created and played by both the Dem and Rep parties.

So let's just be direct. I would love to see them stay without condition. But that isn't going to happen. But I also think the Reps want them to stay as well but have to work for those who think differently. But a win can be achieved by both sides with what I said above. So now it will be in the Dems court to give Trump a win or watch the consequences.

I for one can't wait to see if the Dems can get over partisanship on this one. Thats the beauty of this. Trump can't lose in this fight. But the Dems Hispanic base can.

It's called btw an objective look at the dynamics. Quite frankly you should try not getting so emotional with the name Trump.

Funny thread.

Of course we will see Trump poll higher. When you're at the bottom, only one way to go.

p.s. His only real achievement so far is his tax gift to the 1% (and keeping planes in the air).

Well, actually Obama had put something in place to allow the Dreamers to stay. Trump dismantled it and is demanding that the Dems fund his ridiculous wall as the price of putting the admin order back in place. In most places, this is called extortion and not "politics as usual".

Of course, when the Dems balk, Trump and his Trumpies will blame the Dems for not caving in and say it's all their fault.

The something was an executive order. What's needed is a law.

And yes you can call it extortion. But the other definition is compromise and working across the aisle.

Again what if the Dem place preventing a Trump win over helping these people with a permanent solution. That's what I'm waiting to see.

Fine but instead of using his elevated negotiating skills (satire) to create a law - Trump pulled the rug out so that these families are now facing deportation. It was more important to reverse an executive order from a black president from Nigeria's and place 787,580 lives in uncertainty and turmoil because is Trump is an uncaring and unfeeling racist bigot. Only a disgusting shit would use DACA as a bargaining chip. And it is only a valid bargaining chip if you have every intention of fucking the lives of 787,580 innocent people if you don't get your way.

I knew Trump was incompetent, narcissistic, dirty and a liar but this is an unbelievable heartless move. What a fucking piece of shit you choose to rally around.

I call it "extortion" when someone holds 3/4 million innocent people hostage and demands $$$$ for a vanity nutbar project in return for dealing with them honourably and compassionately.

You can call it "compromise" if you want. There are probably some kidnappers who call demanding a million $$$ in return for getting your wife and kids back alive "compromise" as well. But I'd call that extortion too. Each to his own.

Trump knows he’s not going to get his wall. He’s just setting it up to blame the Dems and use it as an excuse to rescind DACA.

Hey. I didn't say it wasn't a cold move. It is.

Pretty much a Washington move actually. Certainly not the first time that town has played chicken with these kinds of stakes.

But what's done is done. The question now is what do the Dems do? Would any of you care to speculate what they should do Now?
