Re: Calendar

It is with great disappointment that I announce Annessa's withdrawal from the 2004 SP calendar due to personal reasons that, for whatever reason, were not taken into consideration when she entered, and again, when I was asked to extend the contest to allow for the tie-breaker.

Unfortunately, due to this rather foreseeable circumstance (in light of the issue), the release of the calendar will be delayed somewhat.

If Shandra Morgan could contact us as you are the runner-up to the final placement, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Marshall

Shanti or Shandra?

Nothing wrong with Shanti Ashton, but I thought it was Shandra Morgan, or did she drop out too? I would have voted for Shandra in the tie-breaker, but I missed the closing of that one day poll by a few minutes and she lost by one vote.

How do we buy this calendar when it becomes available?

Oops... my bad. I satnd corrected. I was going by rote when I posted and, upon checking, Hugh is correct.

Shandra? My apologies. Can you e-mail or pm me?

Hey, is this calendar going to be a March 2004 - March 2005 release?

At this point, a traditional calendar for 2004 seems pointless
It should be available by the 3rd/4th week of January. Granted, a bit of time has been lost and the concept was initiated rather late, but it is a charity fund raiser so let's not lose sight of that fact.

Moreover, many calendars remain on sale long after Jan. 1 so I really don't see the issue.

It's going to print as I type this. There was a delay in getting all of the photos. The last submission came in just a few days ago and we were held up by it.

The proofs look awesome. As for the calendar being ready for sale, give it another week. It should be in Maggie's hands by then (they will coordinate the distribution to the various support outlets where the product will be available for sale).

As for a price point, I'll leave that up to Maggie's to decide. Seeing as things were delayed somewhat, I'm sure the price will be more than fair. Moreover, as they will get the full proceeds, whatever sales are made will be considered a positive so this year really doesn't have to sell out like hot cakes, although it would be nice!

Mail order would be no trouble at all. The calendars will be available through Maggie's (www.maggiestoronto.org); Eye Weekly (www.eyeweekly.net); and others (will confirm at a later date).

Just a couple of small corrections Marshall. The proper URL for eye is www.eye.net I believe the calendar will be available through adult advertising reps at eye but not actually 'on-line'. Also you can find the banner/link to Maggie’s here on TERB and also here:

Assuming all goes well... sounds like they will be ready in time for the party on Feb. 26th. I'll be glad to volunteer to bring a couple dozen with me to the party and possibly a Maggie’s rep could be there as well or I can arrange to pass them the proceeds next day.

Appreciate you still showing an interest!

Yes, they did get printed. They have not been distributed as of yet for a few reasons:

There were several delays that impeded a timely delivery for 2004. As such, they were re-designed as 2005 calendars and will go on sale shortly.

This way, it will give Maggie's plenty of time to distribute them at the regular price as opposed to discounting them or giving them away for free due to the fact that much of the year had passed.

If they came out too early, much of the marketing effect would be lost as we cannot expect everyone to sustain free advertising for us over the course of an entire year.

BTW, ads should be coming out by June/July in Eye Weekly.
