rebate thread dragged up again
Recently bought an epson photo printer with $40 rebate, filled out everything required, sent the UPC code as required, yesterday in the mail a card from the rebate center saying thank you for participating, however , in their words, :"the rebate could not be honoured due to the bar code provided was not a UPC symbol, if you have any questions please call xxx xxx" . I called, I got a very pleasant lady on the phone that listened to my beef,she said that infact the barcode was missing or incorrect & on & on. When I told her I had a photo copy of everything I sent to them,that the bar code was perfectly legible, that the printer box was right in front of me, that there were no other bar codes on the box, other than I didnt sent the "UPC" that was under the barcode, I felt everything was in order. She said she would open the file & have a cheque sent to me within 6 to 8 weeks, and provided a confirmation number.
I asked her how or why she was able to do this , when it had been poreviously declined, she just re iterated that "SHe would open the file & have a cheque sent to me within 6 to 8 weeks!
once again, if I hadnt persisted, I wouldnt have received the rebate
