Since when does a client need to provide references? Pretty soon you'll need to provide 3 pieces of photo I.D., a resume, cover letter, a police background check and RCMP clearance, this is ridiculous.Listen guys there's plenty of good seasoned pros out there who aren't marketing themselves as 'cut above' material, charging exorbitant rates and requiring 'references', many of whom have a good number of cops in their client lists. Lets patronize them, instead of these paranoid 'prima donnas'.

You seem to be suggesting some kind of a boycott. I'm not sure why. I've never been asked for a reference, and if it ever happens, I'll just move on to the next lady. She is certainly entitled to ask for a reference, if that is what she feels she must do to ensure her own safety. That is her business, her concern, and her loss of business. No need to start some kind of a campaign. And to call someone who asks for a reference a "paranoid prima donna" is a really quite silly. Do you call a construction worker who wears a hard hat on site a paranoid prima donna?

If that works for you, go for it. For me, I don't book by pm or through terb in any way. I'm not a frequent booker, and I rarely repeat. When I review on terb, I wait a period of time and don't post information that would allow the lady to identify me. So how can I provide a reference? Ask my wife for one? My boss? So the day I get asked for a reference, I won't be able to provide it and I'll move down the list to find another girl. When I see a lady, I believe in anonymity. That includes my terb handle.

I don't know if it's just to appease the bible thumpers. I think it's more of a Orwellian society issue.

Just look at their audience -- US johns don't ask for much since they think they're just lucky to get something.
Since LE is not really out there to arrest (T.O) johns -- unless we're talking about street meat or underrage girls/slavery ring --then (T.O) johns demand better service (for their $$$).

I would never provide my real name, address, etc., to an SP. She has my nameless/no-call-display phone number, and that should be enough.

If an SP wanted a reference and she was willing to go based on my phone number alone, in theory I'd have no objection based on that. However... I can't even fathom calling up another SP and asking her to provide the reference! I think most SP's would hang up on you.

I ask for a reference here in Canada only if it's a first time visit to a residence. I want to know that the person is safe and a good guy. Simple as that.

Totally agree Mira. Recently I too have been surprised at some of the ads I have seen from SP's asking for references. I would never give detailed personal information to a stranger. Who knows what the SP does with this information as there is nothing stopping an SP to turn around and start blackmailing customers etc.. Who knows if they are even an SP could also be an uncover cop for all we know. One ad I saw asked for a drivers licence and a recommendation from an SP you've previousily seen. I would be very wary and never release personal information as you don't know who you are handing it over to. I would avoid SP's asking for references at all costs because it is way too risky. Plus there are lots of quality SP's out there who don't ask for all these needles details but more importantly appreciate the need for discretion and provide you with a great time!
