HE WAS THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHEN THE DECISION WAS MADE. OMFG!

Then he lied about that and was caught.

And nice of him to avoid paying taxes to Canada as well. If Poilievre did that you would be having a stroke....

A $5-billion investment fund created under Mark Carney's leadership at Brookfield Asset Management was registered in the Cayman Islands tax haven, according to records obtained by Radio-Canada.
That's in addition to two other funds totalling $25 billion that were registered in Bermuda, another offshore tax haven, when the Liberal leader was on the firm's board of directors from 2020 to 2025.

You know who invests in these funds the CPP (Canada Pension Plan) for one .

Maybe do some research before you continue to look uninformed and foolish.

He voted for it.

He then lied about it.

OMFG Liberal apologists are funny!

Brookfield Corporation's headquarters are in Toronto, while its subsidiary Brookfield Asset Management has been based in New York since 2024.

Soooooooo.... The scandal is that a successful Canadian Multinational, that got it's start buying assets in Brasil, has offices in other countries?

Not quite, but I'll try to enlighten you...

Carney doesn't really support Canada...he supports himself and his business interests. The info is all there if you care to put aside your cognitive bias and stop swallowing what the Liberal propaganda machine is feeding you.

If he loses the election, he'll move on within a week.

Somehow I know you know that's true.

Right...but he was demonized for the whole thing.

Carney? crickets...
Because Caney acknowledged it UP FRONT, and deal with it in a straightforward and honorable way, while Scheer was caught and dealt with it in s shifty and disingenuous way. Also a UK and Irish citizenship is considerably more benign then a US citizenship.

Scheer wasn't shifty. He didn't deny it when asked.

UK/Irish benign? Is that why he moved his business to the US?

Liberal apologists are funny.

You do know that if he loses the election, he will be gone in a week right? You think he wants to lead a party for the benefit of Canada? hahahaha

He was not UP FRONT about it, and only when he was confronted with it did he react to said he would renounce if he were to become PM, as contrasted with Carney who said it up front and said it upfront and has already renounced both citizenships.

Scheer never tried to hide it and it wasn't about being up front...but he was attacked for it. As if he was trying to fool people and because it was an American citizenship through his father. That was the narrative that was being pushed.

But Carney holds 3 citizenships and ......................................crickets.

He did not get ahead of the issue, and if he didn't intentionally hide it, he was really an idiot for not thinking its an issue. How can the PM of Canada have divided loyalties?

You don't care because you would rather ignore it than face your own hypocrisy.

If Poilievre did that you would be setting cars on fire and having a stroke.

Liberal apologists are so predictable.
I wouldn't give a shit if PP had British or Irish citizenship; I WOULD care if he held Yank citizenship because the Yankscum is an enemy.

Yeah, sure.
btw if you believe the US is the enemy, then why do you support Carney? He moved his business there. Why would you support someone who does that?

I'll wait...

He doesn't have US citizenship, though.

What about your whataboutism?
He didn't need US citizenship to move his business out of Canada.

Why would you support someone who would do that? Why do you trust him to have Canada's best interests at heart if he doesn't even keep his own business here?
