If you reset your iPhone to factory settings, do you lose all the info you saved on your apps or is that info backed up on iTunes on your computer?
elf, be careful when you do this. i did this when i had an iphone and lost everything. make sure you save at least 2 backupsCool! Thanks
Glad to hear how 'simple' things are in LA LA Apple-Land!.....I would be very careful with this. A lot of apps sync to something in google. itunes will sync some also. personally, i have tried some apps that, on installing an update, lose their own previous data! the iphone world is very messy. If you restore, you get the latest apple release. unless you're jailbroke and have saved shsh on cydia (or locally).
I guess the question is, if you restore and lose everything, how bad is that?
I think what you guys need is this:If you reset your iPhone to factory settings, do you lose all the info you saved on your apps or is that info backed up on iTunes on your computer?
I was updating one of the many to-do apps. Called Awesome Notes. I copied all my files off the itouch to my pc. updated. MY GOD!! The update threw away all my notes! I copied my backed up files over to the itouch. no good. tried to re-sync with Google. Didn't work. I might have made a boo-boo myself tho. can't be sure. Eventually, I gave up and used something else.I think what you guys need is this:Cucusoft iPhone iTouch iPod to Computer
I've never had a issue with Simplenote after update after update after update.I was updating one of the many to-do apps. Called Awesome Notes. I copied all my files off the itouch to my pc. updated. Moral: be careful. be willing to lose everything on upgrades. I think you can minimize the risk by using apps that either sync with a cloud entity or that simply let you copy the files. It's not simple.
But have you restored to factory settings? That's very different than updating an app.I've never had a issue with Simplenote after update after update after update.
