Hi guys
Does anyone know of a location in Toronto that sells used but nice retail fixtures such as track lighting, spots etc..
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

On Adelaide nr Spadina...

There are a couple of stores that sell used retail fixtures on Adelaide West just west of Spadina. Can't remember the names or adresses but use to walk by there all the time when my office was down that way last year. Don't think they have any lighting though... just display cases etc...

Yeah, I work around the corner from Adelaide & Spadina and there's a few stores along there, though I can't recall if they sell lighting. Also, you could try a place called The Display Bank which is just off Strachan, south of King (right beside the cop shop).

In most retail applications the lighting engineers will specify certain brands of lighting to be used... usually Halo, Lightolier or Juno. these are name brands, premium products.. they are quality

however lighting engineers are not spending their money..

If I had a store, I would not think twice about spending the "extra" for the good stuff however...

there are some cost effective (cheaper) alternatives

You may want to check out this company.. download their PDF catalog (about 4.7MB).. they have some cool, affordable stuff.. if you have a store, the "Flourotrack" on page 13 will probably interest you... but then it all depends on what you are trying to do.

Whatever you do.. avoid the fixtures which use the line voltage MR16 lamp

I couldn't agree more, stay away from these. Many people get get fooled by the look. The lamp would be a GU10 based lamp. stick with the MR16

I guess you are in the industry as well WIYD.

Re-Stor

Try the Re-Store. This is the habitat for humanity outlet of used goods. Not specific to retail, but tons of lighting etc. Its a crap shoot, but I guarantee you will find track lighting there.

There is one on Caledonia near Lawrence (just north).
