Actually a lot of his injuries were his fault.

Most of his sustained injuries were after the impact, this according to an eye witness -rolling around on the ground and smacking your noggin on the sidewalk will do it. A brain bucket wouldn't have helped but an enclosed racing helmet may have prevented a lot of head trauma.

Plus, I suspect speed may have been a factor. That is or was (his bike) a Hayabusa -I'm not saying he was speeding, but; when a Ferrari gets into a collision, there's an assumption that speed may have been involved.

It amazes me...

how a football player who wears a helmet in his sport , would be too dumb to wear one for motorcycle riding. These states that don't mandate helmets, are just bowing to motorcycle groups that say you lose the feel of the open road if you wear a helmet. I guess Ben has shown he is just another dumb jock..
