Rogers HD cable problems

When Rogers recently changed there software I have been having problems when I change channels, not every channel and not every change. There is also a longer delay when changing.
After several phone calls to Rogers I finally got some one to admit that I'm not the only one but they are now hinting that maybe its my box (pvr) that has a problem

What happens is I get a black screen with the message looking for signal which lasts for a second or two

Any body having a similiar problem

I had a problem getting a couple of HD channels but Rogers sent a guy to replace the external cable and that seems to have fixed that problem.

I notice now that when I click on a non-HD channel, Rogers automatically sends the HD version. How do i watch the standard definition channel if that is my choice? It seems the standard definition choice has been taken away under the new system.

I just get message when I turn to a low def channel and there is a high def channel showing the same thing. It doesn't actually send the HD version automatically

Yes it does, my father doesn't know how to change it, and he asked me the other night why the HDTV was showing on the box, yet it was on Ch 08 CTV.
It's kind of neat. I just punch in one digit 8 and it automatically switches to HD which would have involved punching in 3 digits on your remote. One digit instead of three. Neat.

Same annoying problem. This upgrade sucks. I own my PVR so I can't bring it in.

The only problem now is...the HD TV upstairs looks fine switching automatically to HD, but the 32" tube tv in the basement has a cropped picture. :-( And no Zoom etc doesn't change anything.

Another problem is that I can no longer watch CBC Channel 6 in standard definition as it automatically switches to the HD version.
