Rogers??

I had a call from supposedly from Rogers on Boxing Day offering me a new cell phone deal. I cut the conversation short.

Later, I began to wonder if it was Rogers or a crank call. It seems odd that they would do solicitation calls on the Sunday after Christmas.

Did anyone else here get such a call?

It's the newest scam. Irresistable deals on cel phones. To receive them you simply provide your name, address, drivers license number, SIN number, and credit card reference if you have one - but it isn't actually necessary. People are giving up their identity to strangers who use the info to apply for other accounts fraudulently.

Rogers Or Scam

I myself have had many of these phone calls, and decided to check into it. What i found out was that Yes indeed Rogers does have customer support at thier call centre making calls to see if ppl want a free cell phone, but they have to hook it up with Rogers, but on the other had I also found out that there is a scam going on that has people calling pretending to be part oof Rogers, so they can get all the personal info on yourself, so BE CAREFULL...

I would never give out my credit card info over the phone unless I was making the call myself and if the business was established. I too received a call but it was not from Roger's and it was from Bell Mobility a few weeks ago offering a similar deal.

A lot of the times it sounds too good to be true and there's always a catch. You don't want to get fucked hard in the end.

I had 2 calls from different people on the same day about a Bell Mobility plan 'I could REALLY use'...funny thing I've had 2 lines from them for 4+ yrs on a corp. plan...

I had a call from Rogers a few months ago too re: 2nd phone ( I took them up on the offer ), I have had calls from representatives of Telus as well ( no idea how they got my number ).

Maybe Roger's is legitimately making these calls and they're hurting for some extra business. After all that tight-wad shrew Ted Roger's is a billionaire who owns the Blue Jays and he's being such a god damn penny pincher.

The Jays could have signed some good free agents but they let them slip away to all sorts of teams, and I'm not just talking about the big-time spenders like the Yankees and BoSox.

Ted Roger's if you're listening you have a monopoly on the TV industry around here and a big share of the mobile industry. Start spending some of your revenues on your ball team you cheap ass.

I have a cell with rogers and no complaints they even upgraded me last year . A 400$ phone for 99 $ plus enhanced voice mail and email sms . And I'm in Quebec . Rogers now owns Fido so all thoes who own fido are now with rogers . Better coverage because of microcell no romaning charges for rogers clients on microcell network it's great
