Has anyone been to Romania? Please share your experience.

I was surfing around some sites and I can't how beautiful that country is. I was thinking of going there for a short trip in the spring.

I'm well aware of the economic conditions there but the sites make it seem so alluring...obviously. There are a ton of casinos, clubs, cafes and the skiing looks pretty good too. I was just wondering if anyone has anything to add?

brief visit last year

I was in Bucharest in June 2004 for one week. The city is typical of many EE capitals (except for Kyiv, which is amazing) - nice enough until you look at the little things, such as uncut grass, cracked and unkept sidewalks, and apartment buildings in need of maintanence, etc.

However, its not all bad. Its very inexpensive. One cautionary note - make very certain you use an OFFICIAL cab. There are many individuals using marked up cars posing as the real deal. I'll try to recall the real companies and post their names later. Its a bit late for me to go rooting around some boxes looking for more information for you. I'll look into it on the weekend and get you some useful information.

The ones you see in Toronto are not even half as Attractive as Some EE you see in their Own Countries...
I lived in Budapest and Prague and can tell you the EE you see in Toronto are average.

This is so true , women in europe are about 3 to 4 times more attractive than north america. if you plan to go to Romania make sure to get all the romanian lobster tail you can , they are very very cheap , clean and very attractive. the best place to look for them are on the streets . redzones.
Scince you willbe in romania take the euro rail and travel to different european cities. ill list all the places with beautiful women ,
