The "Runaway Bride" has sold the rights to her story for a reported $500,000 US. Is this right?

Wow,her family must be pissed, they protected her "secrets" now she has sold the rights to them, talk about betrayal.Only in America they say.

I don't understand why there's any value. Why would people tune in to read a book or watch a movie based on her story if they already know how it goes and how it turns out? Yet people do watch these, go figure.
Perhaps if they used the story simply as a base to build a full blown musical or went off on a tangent to add some fictional spice, I might be interested.
Or if they simply went hardcore porn?

I think they bank on the mystery as to why she did this. The family admitted there was a problem but never said what it was.People are generally nosy,so I think they (movie producers) bank on that when they buy into this.

We all know the paul karla story and how it ends, but the movie maker will give his spin as to why.
