Based on the quality of SP's and dancers coming from this part of the world, I was wondering if any TERBie out there could offer some information on the "scene" in this part of the world - specifically:

1. what is the scene? nightclubs, escorts???
2. what is the safety level for foriegners?
3. is it a worthwhile trip?

My Russian Adventures

The scene in Russia and Ukraine is incredible; young, slim, beautiful teenage girls for US$100/night. Moscow and Kiev are excellent places to hobby, as girls from the poorer provinces come to make $$ on their school vacations. Safety is not an issue if you take the normal precautions you would take traveling as a "rich" North American tourist; do your research, hook up with a few experienced travelers or try contacting some of the Americans and Canadians living full-time over there. It's a pay site, but their Russia/Ukraine section is excellent, with lots of tips, photos and inside info for the Western traveler. Well worth the $10/month investment; pay special attention to the posts of an American with the handle "car", as he's an American living in Russia who knows the scene well. Learning a little Russian helps enormously, but not a prerequisite; I knew none, still know very little, but had a ball on 3 trips to Moscow and St. Petersburg. My downside was jetlag eroding my sexual drive, but I still had a gas! IAnd if you're fun, on the younger side and don't look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, you won't have to pay very often; there are tons of Russian girls who've never met a foreigner and may take you on just for the novelty of boinking a foreigner. I don't think it would be prudent to be "hobbying" in the C.I.S and former Soviet satellite states. Russians will soon be giving sub-saharan Africans and Thais a run for their money when it comes to the percentage of the population infected with HIV. A lot of the SPs over there are IV drug users. You're probably wise to stick to Western Europe, North America, Australia/NZ and Japan for hobbying.

Take the same precautions you'd take hobbying in North America, and you'll be OK (protected FS, etc). If you meet an expatriate who knows the local Kiev/Moscow/SPB scene, even better.
Chain reaction, I don't think you've ever been over to Russia/Ukraine, as you'd know most of the SPs (esp. lineup girls) are students from the poorer provinces looking to make some extra $$ for school, or single moms. Not drugged-out heroin users. Not meaning to insult you, but you're incorrect.

I would agree with you Tango as far as the Ukraine goes - at least a year ago anyway. I'd be more worried about having the proper body guards though . Can be a scary place to be flashing cash without an escort ( and I don't mean SP ) .

Russia/Eastern Europe

I used to travel fairly frequently to Russia and Eastern Europe and would agree with the statement about watching where you go and how you flash your cash. Life is quite cheap there and the Russian mafia make the Italian look like schoolkids.

You can find hookers everywhere in these places, particularly in the big cities. They are in all the nightclubs, hotel bars, casinos, basically anywhere you can buy a drink. Generally the less "western" the place is the more freelancers and amateurs there are but in the big hotels such as the Metropole or the Kapinsky in Moscow you will find real pros with not nice people behind them. In western places you will pay at least $200US for a girl but people are right you can pay a lot less at more "Russian" places but you need to be able to speak some of the language in order to negotiate.

It is not uncommon for the rate to be negotiated for the night but be prepared to have to escort the girl into and out of the hotel through their security who will ask you questions if they don't like the look of the girl.

Service will be provided in most cases bareback unless you provide the condom - highly recommended for reasons outlined above. Big macho thing in Russia and Eastern Europe to go bareback but the consequences can be horrific.

just as an add on to this in Moscow is one great place to hobby is called Safari Lodge, there is a restaurant upstairs but downstairs there is a bar with a stripper, and a ton of girls available just sitting around, you talk to a girl and ask her to go for a "sauna" you go through the back and into a room nicely decorated run by an old woman, 30 dollars US for the hour for the room and then 50 dollars for the hour for the girl, and the selection of girls is ubelievable

i dont know where you got the idea of bareback in Russia as a common thing, i lived there for a year and half and saw about a half dozen escorts and never ever ever did they ever even imply they did bareback, of course going there I would suggest bring your own good Canadian condoms.

another great place to hobby same city is a bar called Doug and Marty's Boarhouse or formerly known as Chesterfields, on a Saturday night the place will be packed with girls looking for customers, usual price is 100 dollars US for the entire night but the not overtly beautiful ones can be bargained down, hope this helps

As I said I haven't been to Moscow in a couple of years and when I went it was to the more upscale places like Nightflight, Up and Down Club and Cherry Casino as well as the Kapinsky and Metropole hotels. All were very upmarket, particularly up and Down Club and cost was very high. Went with a colleague one night to the club called something Duck owned by a Canadian and was warned about going into the "cheaper" hotels such as the Ukraine (which we did anyway) by our security people. All the places I have cited the girls offered/expected bareback unless you provided condom which I always did. Didn't like the odds otherwise.

If a city can change in an instant, let alone two or three years it is Moscow. It was always the last of the "wild west" but from the time I started going in 1990 until I stopped in 2000 the changes were immense. Our basic contention was that the German businessman ruined the pricing structure for everyone else.

If i were going as a first timer to Moscow I wouldnt even bother with Nightflight and the likes of that, the place is way over rated and the prices for the girls is way too steep where you can find similar quality or even better in some cases, at Safari Lodge or the Boarhouse.

The place you are talking about is the Hungry Duck, in the early and mid 90's had a wild reputation as some nights they would allow women in only first give them all the alcohol they wanted and then about an hour later or so allow guys in, well you can imagine the rest.

Other Pointers

My last trip was a 2-week vacation to Moscow and a small Russian city called Murmansk in summer 2002; 14 days, 10 girls = ONE GREAT TIME!! *smile* Some small pointers on hobbying in Russia or Ukraine:
1) Rent an apartment. Hotel security is definitely a pain in bringing girls to your room, they'll expect a hefty bribe to do so. Not worth the hassle, and a good Western-style apartment is a lot cheaper than a hotel ($50-80/night).
2) You don't need bodyguards. I went alone all 3 times, dressed in Armanis for night time clubbing, and NEVER had a problem. Tip the bartender an extra 200 rubles (US$6) and he'll move Heaven and Earth to make sure club security watches over you (and that you're served first in a crowd). Just use some common sense; breaking out a thick wad of $100 bills in a bar is just asking for trouble! Anyways, indy girls usually expect payment at the end of the night and lineup girls are never more than $100 ($50/night, if you know the ropes). Don't leave your drink unattended, etc. You get the picture. One thing I love about Russia/Ukraine is they respect the judicious use of money; a little $$ (you don't need a lot) in the right place gets you instant first-class service. Try that at your local Canadian neighborhood club/bar this Saturday! *smile*

Another tip. I have met quite a few girls from places like Romania, Poland, Bulgaria and Hungary, all online. Internet cafes are quite prevalent in these places and a lot of girls in their teens, 20s and 30s use these internet cafes to chat. These girls are not SPs, they are just your regular girls many of them in university and they would love to chat with and meet a guy from the USA or Canada.

I am sure at least some of them are completely legit. I have talked to a couple on the phone and have chatted with some of them on MSN. One even has a webcam. And she defintely is a Romanian cutie.

What is my point? Make friend with them BEFORE you go there. I plan on making a trip over there this summer to meet some of these girls I have been chatting with.

What do you need to do? Go to www.mirc.co.uk and download the IRC client. Once you are connected to IRC, go to some of the chatrooms like #chatworld or #worldchat. WOmen from everywhere including S E Asia, i.e. Phiilipines, Indonesia etc..

I did something similar on my first 2 trips, emailing girls and meeting with them on arrival. A great way to have a tour guide/interpreter/girlfriend entertain you and get your feet wet to the local social scene. But with the ferocious competition for "eligible" men over there, it'll become a problem when you see how man-friendly it is over there, and she wants to monopolize ALL your time. A great approach, but occasionally awkward. 3rd trip I had no specific girl waiting for me; it's just really easy to meet girls over there who want "to practice their English"! *smile* But everyone has their own comfort level at how they want to meet girls/girlfriends/SPs.....

Scouser, IRC has been around since the days when the internet was the wild west. So, it is not very user friendly at first.

When you launch MIRC, you have to first configure it. Go into File, Options and see what server is listed. change it to say "Random US Unsernet Server". And enter your nickname where it asks you for it. Then click on "Connect to IRC server".

Sometimes there are problems connecting with certain servers, if you can't connect try another server. Or try again later.

A couple of warnings though. It can be VERY addictive. And also NEVER accept files from anybody except if they are .jpg file.
