Satellite Dish

Anyone out there have a good lead on Satellite dishes? You know, the grey market kind. With porn.

Or am I too late on this one, what with the HU thingie being obsolete?

We'd need it for at least two rooms. Delivery and installation preferred, as we're girls and don't do things which involve tools.

Unless strap ons count as tools.*

*...Even if they do, I'm not sure they'd be useful in installing a satellite dish....

No she's not.

While i can't give Morgan any ideas where to get a dish in the GTA there will be a million choices., just shop around for the cheapest price.

However she may as well wait until the P4 program is up and running, no point buying a system now with an HU card and then having to buy a P4 after the fact.

When the P4's are running, the card will be included in the price of the system from whatever dealer she buys from.

I wish you guys came with subtitles sometimes... P4's and HU's were not acrynoms I found in the Hobbyists Guide to Escort Abreviations.

And another thing! Why is abreviation such a long word???

OK, so am I really better off to simply not buy a dish at all until the entire HU card thing is settled?

Another question - if I purchase an Xpress Vue dish from Bell and a programming package from them, can I *also* add on a card which gives me free programming?

Xpress Vue has a deal right now which offers a free dish and receiver, free installation and set up, and a second receiver for $50. Seems like a pretty good deal.

April 13, 2004 - DirecTV Begins P3 (HU) Phase Out
After the months of hearing rumors that speculate the demise of the P3 (HU) card it appears that DirecTV has now moved into the beginning stages of eliminating its last piratable access card. Several reports began coming in this morning regarding channels that show the message, "This Access Card Has Expired. Please Install Your New Access Card."

At this point it seems that mainly the channels in the 620-654 range are black and report the above message. It would appear at this point that over the next week or so that we will continue to see more and more blocks of channels dropping off. When logging the datastream activity for those channels, there is no longer Video Authorization packets for the HU card. DirecTV has changed the encrypted INS40 Packets to P4 Native Only. For those that tested with the P2 (H) card, this situation may seem awfully familiar.

As always will we continue to monitor the activity of the stream, but it appears the P3 (HU) has finally met its demise

I hear that P4 cards have already doubled in price!

Re: direct tv

U still have free porn??? none here, nor any ppv's and all the specialty sports channels are gone as well as some of the HBO's

I've also heard on a couple of boards i go to that P4's aren't gonna work properly and that's why p5's are out already as well, although this is just something that is grapevining at the moment, so don't quote me on it.

Apparently the reason for the p5's is that the p4's are not compatable with hdtv. So they say

The alternative to Directv is Dishnet, which is the same as Directv except you don't get Football, and some other sports. So for what Morgan is looking for this would be ideal. But it dosn't solve my needs.....I need my FOOTBALL. I'm not sure if Dishnet has the hockey , baseball and basketball packages, but I know they get all the Fox sports channels. It could be a long time before the P4 cards are up and running. I have had my P4 card now for 2 years, so they have been out for some time now, and no one has yet been able to get them up and running.....Morgan if you want more information on Dishnet and where to get it, P.M. me.

I just got a P4 card on Saturday. Two bills.

It's not working yet because they don't have the codes (or whatever it is they get) to program the cards. Hopefully I'll be up in a day or 2.

Funny how as the stations were getting wiped out 1 by 1 with the previous card, the very last one that seemed to work for me was Playboy.

The funny thing was that up to a week ago, most dealers could not get rid of their P4 cards at $75.CDN each... now they're on a golfmine as the cards are now selling for $200.CDN if you're lucky to get that price!!
