Anyone hear about four local Strip Clubs getting busted last night?

It was briefly on the radio today, but I can't find any online stories about it.

Seems that LE can bust the SCs whenever they like. That's disturbing as well as scary.

Peel Regional Police - Dirty dancing results in charges

BRAMPTON, ON, March 4 /CNW/ - The Peel Regional Police Vice Unit have
laid a total of 24 charges following a three month investigation into illegal
activities in area strip clubs.
In December 2003, the Vice Unit, with the assistance of the Street Crime
Unit and Neighbourhood Policing Units, commenced By-Law inspections at the
Latin Quarter in Brampton as well as the Locomotion Tavern, Cannon Ball
Cabaret, and the Airport Strip in Mississauga. Investigators have been working
in partnership with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission and the Mississauga and
Brampton By-law Enforcement Units.
Based upon observations made by Police, a total of eleven dancers have
been charged under the by-law for permitting sexual touching. The owners of
theses establishments have also been charged with allowing sexual touching to
occur.
Additional charges have also been laid against the owners for improper
registration of dancers. One dancer was found in breach of her immigration
status. This was reported to Canada Immigration officials who are
investigating. Police intend to continue with inspections of adult
entertainment parlours to ensure compliance with the by-laws and Liquor
Licence Act.

T.O. police do have more impotant things to do that's why there aren't many releases about inspections and investigations in to places like the rail and all but the clubs involved are in mississauga and brampton, I guess there isn't enough crime in peel region to keep the cops occupied.

That's it, instead of fighting crime, they want to intervene in a good time between two consenting adults. No one gets hurt in a SC, unless you don't pay the dancer, and get kicked out. It's in a private establishment behind closed doors, so what gives? We have a good time, and she makes some money....

how often is it these "raids" happen? it seems like every couple of months something is going on. honestly, this is just nonsense if u ask me. can't a guy cup'o'feel without any problems. i am very upset over this ordeal!

Being upset is all fine and dandy. Perhaps the best thing to do if you truly feel that this is wrong is to e mail your MP's and MPP's as well as your city councilors about your dissatisfaction with the actions of the police and the way your tax dollars are spent. Enough of this and the "VOTE" greedy politicians will listen.

Isn't it weird that MDS rarely's ever get a sweap done. Everything time I hear about this mostly every other SC get sweap and MDS is in the clear. Hummm Can I say... Nevermind...

It’s all politics…

IMO it is mostly all about politics. In Peel and York regions they claim to have received complaints from local citizens about these dens of iniquity. Morally upstanding porn bashers and the like. The bored prim and proper busy body housewife sitting at home with nothing better to do phoning in complaints to her local city councilor. So the police and other local officials see a chance to apparently score a few points with the public.

Doesn't LE have more important things to do then raid stripclubs because they fear Average Joe is fondling a tit?

Patrol the streets of T.O. where there has been like 15 to 20 homicides already this year.

I want my tax dollars spent properly.

Drugs. Guns. Rapists. Pedophiles. These are the issues the cops should be looking at.

I understand the question about more important things the police could be doing, however, isn't the whole purpose of a Vice Squad to go after illegal sexual behavior???? In a sense they're doing what they're job requires them to do...

Then it would make sense to shrink the Vice Squad, and relocate more resources to fight the real crime.
