search function disabled

Can anyone tell me why my search function has been disabled? Is there a problem with the server etc?

It's just temporary - it will be turned on shortly .
We were getting too many connections.

It's never off for any length of time...
Usually about half an hr - just enough time to allow the server to cool down if there is too much activity
