Searching Text for Word Frequency?

Is there a way to search a text document to identify words that come up more often than others? For example, a search to determine which word(s) comes up the most?

I know in Word and Excel you can use the Find feature to locate specific words, or Statistics to do an overall word count, but in this case I'm trying to identify unspecified words that come up with increasing frequency.

If not in Word or Excel, is there other software that does this?

Find the most common words in multiple text files and Microsoft Word documents. This program will do a word frequency analysis and list the number of times each appears. Also, the list will be sorted by frequency. This list can be saved to a text file.
