I am trying to send some hand-drawings via email in one package but it is too big.

The images are pencil on paper and were scanned using photoshop.

1. Is there a way of reducing the size of each image by screening out all the white space? Seems like there was and it goes by a different term.

2. Is this what Winzip is for. Reducing large files that cannot be reduced any further?

Thanks much.

Win zip will probably help. If you are trying to send them to a hotmail account it may not be enough. Highspeed users usually can receive files up to 3megs. If that doesn't help upload / post them here...http://www.ripway.com/ and send the link to the recipreant.

hope this helps

If you and the other person have Gmail accounts, send it through there. They allow attachments up to 7mb I think.

Winzip won't help if the pictures are jpg.

If they are black and white pictures, reduce the number of colours saved to 256.

Use MasterSplitter. It is a freeware package from http://www.tomasoft.com. It spilits the file into smaller chunks which you can then email one at a time. It will create a BAT file to glue them together.

This is a piece of paper with pencil marks that I scanned in. It is 8x11. It was scanned in as a grayscale image. It has to be sent as one tidy little package.

thanks again all.
