Here's a fact for your mind to get around.

In order to win the cup you first have to make the playoffs.

When was the last time that happened in Leaf land exactly?

As for the Sens... Well they don't exactly have a powerhouse do they.

But at this moment they are ahead of the Leafs in the pecking order.
wow...if you want to look at the last time the leafs made the playoffs...when was the last time the Sens won the cup is Sen land? No one wants to play for the Senators anymore...let's see..Dany Heatley, Jason Spezza ( I don't GAF what they write in the paper, he wants out of there but his contract is too f'ing big) and your GM talks and makes deals like a total douche..Dany Heatley basically for Cheecho.

I think your just being a troll are you not? but I'm bored so I'll humour you.

If no one wants to play for the Sens anymore then why did Gonchar sign with them over a much better Pens team.

If you don't believe what you read in the paper how about the interview Spezza gave the other day saying that he has never asked to be traded and that he wants to be in Ottawa. Or did he lie for some unknown reason?

And heatley...could he have wanted out because of the rift he started within the team when he had the spat with Spezza over his fiance at the time.

The heatley trade ''basically'' comes down to Heatley for Michalek at this stage or did you just forget about him? So a 40 goal one way trouble maker for a two way 25 goal team first guy. I'm fine with that and so are the rest of the faithful in Ottawa.

Oracle, I think Gonchar wanted to experience playing in Canada before he retired and the 2 teams he was interested in were Ottawa and/or Montreal. He didn't even want to speak to the Sharks, Kings and Canucks- who also approached his agent. BTW- Gonchar and his family plan on moving to their cottage on Lake Joseph when he hangs up his skates.

I love it too.

Funniest moment was Domi trying to lay a hit on Chara. What mismatch. We can't get to high and mighty it is only one game. --- Kev
second funniest moment was Ottawa thinking Chara was the player they couldn't resign... opted to keep Redden, Phillips instead back then...

I'm not being a troll..I'm just telling the facts. Players don't want to play for teams like Ottawa and Edmonton..and as for your argument as for Gonchar signing there?? A guy who is 36, who is a pretty decent d man fine...but it doesn't make up for the fact that 2 high profile players in the past year already want out. Doesn't that tell you something? Michalek will never bring the same type of explosive impact as Heatley..period! I know a lot of guys here are chiming in here cause they hate the leafs but I respect that you have your opinions and that I also have mine. I never said that everyone wants to play for the Leafs...aside from Jamal Mayers and Garnett Exelby, who has demanded a trade from the leafs recently???

Because Pittsburgh went with younger FAs in Martin and Michalek. They did not need Gonchar.

Dude your facts are skewed, Heatley only wanted out after his off ice escapades with other peoples women caused a rift on the team. It didn't make the press but either did Corson and Mogilny's similar situation in Leaf land in days gone by.

Spezza is upset because the fans got on him after his horrendous start and his continual defensive lapses in the playoffs. At his price tag they have a right to.

You talk as if you know whats going with the Sens but you know very little and whats with the statement that nobody wants to play there? Seriously is that just your personal notion or do you have any concrete facts?

Lastly, I don't hate the Leafs as a matter of fact it wouldn't bother me in the least if they finished with 100 points next year. As long as the Sens finished ahead of them of course lol.

Oh and one more thing, Heatley didn't have that super ''impact'' in San Jose did he? Playing with Thornton I expected a little more than a 39 goal season and 2 goals in 14 games during the playoffs.
Not to mention where was during the Olympics exactly? Maybe he is a tad overrated after all. Good riddance too him I say.

wow, those are a lot of coincidences all to happen within a year, aren't they?? You should not be questioning whether I am in the know or have "insider information related to the Ottawa Senators" but it's common sense dude! Wake up and smell the coffee! It seems that people are making excuses after excuses as to why people want out of Senator land...if it looks like shit, smells like shit then it usually is shit.... Heatley didn't do that well in the playoffs I agree, but he had a much larger impact that the players he was traded for.... as to the Olympics, a lot of guys get shut down and not everyone on the team even though they are all all-stars can be poppin in 3,4 goals a night.

remember how upset he was when Dany Heatley made it public that he wanted to leave? Well guess what, he doesn't want to create that same stink to get a one-way ticket out of Senator land
