If no one wants to play for the Sens anymore then why did Gonchar sign with them over a much better Pens team.
If you don't believe what you read in the paper how about the interview Spezza gave the other day saying that he has never asked to be traded and that he wants to be in Ottawa. Or did he lie for some unknown reason?
And heatley...could he have wanted out because of the rift he started within the team when he had the spat with Spezza over his fiance at the time.
The heatley trade ''basically'' comes down to Heatley for Michalek at this stage or did you just forget about him? So a 40 goal one way trouble maker for a two way 25 goal team first guy. I'm fine with that and so are the rest of the faithful in Ottawa.
Oracle, I think Gonchar wanted to experience playing in Canada before he retired and the 2 teams he was interested in were Ottawa and/or Montreal. He didn't even want to speak to the Sharks, Kings and Canucks- who also approached his agent. BTW- Gonchar and his family plan on moving to their cottage on Lake Joseph when he hangs up his skates.

Michalek will never bring the same type of explosive impact as Heatley..period! Because Pittsburgh went with younger FAs in Martin and Michalek. They did not need Gonchar.
Dude your facts are skewed, Heatley only wanted out after his off ice escapades with other peoples women caused a rift on the team. It didn't make the press but either did Corson and Mogilny's similar situation in Leaf land in days gone by.
Spezza is upset because the fans got on him after his horrendous start and his continual defensive lapses in the playoffs. At his price tag they have a right to.

Lastly, I don't hate the Leafs as a matter of fact it wouldn't bother me in the least if they finished with 100 points next year. As long as the Sens finished ahead of them of course lol.
Oh and one more thing, Heatley didn't have that super ''impact'' in San Jose did he? Playing with Thornton I expected a little more than a 39 goal season and 2 goals in 14 games during the playoffs.
Not to mention where was during the Olympics exactly? Maybe he is a tad overrated after all. Good riddance too him I say.
Actually the Martin and Michalek signing were their plan B if they failed to lure Gonchar back.

wow, those are a lot of coincidences all to happen within a year, aren't they?? You should not be questioning whether I am in the know or have "insider information related to the Ottawa Senators" but it's common sense dude! Wake up and smell the coffee! It seems that people are making excuses after excuses as to why people want out of Senator land...if it looks like shit, smells like shit then it usually is shit.... Heatley didn't do that well in the playoffs I agree, but he had a much larger impact that the players he was traded for.... as to the Olympics, a lot of guys get shut down and not everyone on the team even though they are all all-stars can be poppin in 3,4 goals a night.

I do have my mind made up. He does want out of Senator land just that he isn't going about it the same way as Heatley did by demanding the trade publicly.
