Let's discuss double standards on the assumption this student was male.

Most guys would probably say this guy was a lucky bastard. But if this was a male teacher with a 14 year old girl... everyone would want his balls ripped off and hung up on the basketball net. Is there a double standard here? How many of you think this woman... if proven guilty... should go to jail for a very long time?


A 34-year-old teacher and athletics coach was suspended from her duties at a Whitby elementary school after police alleged they busted her in a sex act with a 14-year-old student in a car.

Durham Regional Police Det-Const. Jenn Bickle-Hearn said officers were investigating an unrelated missing-vehicle call at 8:45 p.m. Friday in Clarington when they came across a parked car in a rural area.

Upon looking into the car, police allegedly saw the teacher and student engaged in a sex act.

The teacher has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

She had been serving as the teen's athletics coach, Bickle-Hearn said, before adding that she couldn't say much else to protect the identity of the alleged victim.

The teacher's name wasn't released nor was the name of the school where she was teaching and coaching. Police indicated she lives in Bowmanville and that since her arrest she's been released on bail.

"There's a lot I can't say just to protect the victim," Bickle-Hearn said.

Lou Vavougios, superintendent of employee relations with the Durham District School Board, said the teacher has been removed from her duties.

"I can tell you that we want to reassure parents that this person has been suspended from her teaching duties while the investigation proceeds," Vavougios said.

I'm sure everyone of us horney bastards had a major hard on crush for some young teacher back in early highschool years. If one of those ladies had ever said yes we would have jumped at the chance. While I now realize that such a situation would be wrong on many levels the fact remains that any young teen boy does not think with the big head, just the little one, and would have loved it, plus been the envy of all his buddies. Not saving its right, just saying thats the way it seems to be.

There is a double standard, thats the nature of society, the female teacher will in all likelyhood receive a much more lenient sentence/punishmant than if it was a male teacher with a female student.

Going out on a limb here, (and all legal issues notwithstanding...) but- As long as it was completely consensual as in, no one was coerced into doing anything he or she didn't want to do, then it really isn't a problem for me.

As Calloway said; as guys we often thought about (OK constantly thought about) having sex with any willing female partner when we were at the age of 14, and would have jumped at the opportunity... I became sexually active when both my GF at the time and I were 16, but I would have started earlier if the opportunity would have presented itself, and I am sure most if not all of you would have as well. Same goes for some females as well I suppose. The problem for me starts when much older individuals start putting moves on teenagers much younger than them... that is where I draw the line.

Do you realize the incongruity of these two statements? The accused was 34, the victim 14. How much an age difference would you say is crossing the line, notwithstanding whether it was completely consensual?

When I was in grade 7 in junior high I had the hots for my private school homeroom teacher. She was 23-24 and just out of Teacher's College - her first year on the job. She was hot! If she had taken a shine to me and invited me back to her apartment I would have been a very happy 13 year old haha. I still have the occassional erotic dream about her all these decades later...blonde, brown eyes, 5'5", 34C-24-34, freckles...

So yes, there is a double standard. Men know they would have done their homeroom teacher in HS and liked it. Men also think young teen girls need protection from adult men so as to keep their innocence. Guys don't give a fark about keeping their own innocence because guys are, well, guys lol.

I started sex young, intercourse for the first time at 14, first BJ at 13. The BJ was because I coerced an older female looking after me to give me one. She was 18 and my baby sitter.

In high school I played sports and we had tournaments where we were away. You must be really old not to remember what it's like being 14. Most of us were trying to get any piece of poontang we could find.

At the age of 14 he's not a child either by modern standards. He's an adolescent.

So far the posts in this thread have answered your question... The "law" (and therefore the media) classifies the 14 yr old as a "victim" solely on the principle of age... whether or not he (or she) was a willing participant isn't said. My point is, if he or she wasn't a willing participant, then I have a problem with it. However, if he or she IS/ WAS a willing participant, who am I to tell them how they should live their lives.

I have never discussed this with anyone but had ongoing sexual relations with a teacher when I was 15 years old... she was 23 and had a body that would make me cum in my pants at the time. I was actually guilty of using sexual innuendo (albeit very subtle yet obviously inappropriate). She at first was a little flustered with my behaviour yet found my obsession with her endearing after a while. She was only at our school for a month (actually a substitute teacher) but once she left she agreed to meet up with me for coffee after laughing off my requests numerous times.... Thing is that I wasn't even any good at doing the deed at the time yet we connected more than once. It might be every teen aged boy's fantasy but teacher are paid professionals and should adhere to a code of conduct.

If she need to get her rocks off she should consider trolling other hunting grounds. She is the adult/professional and shouldn't be crossing the lines.

Does the kid deserve some of the blame? Perhaps. The point is she is the adult/authority figure and is responsible for her conduct. If she want to blow young guys she should wait until they drop out/graduate or at least be of legal age of consent.

I totally disagree with the people on this board who are passing judgement. If she forced the guy to have sex with her that would have been wrong. I'm my case, the teacher that I had sexual relations with when I was 15 years old was mentally stable. In other words, she was not a "predator" like some of you may think!
