I'm less afraid of being shot and more worried about my kids being picked up by a pedophile. It's a sad age we live in when kids can't even go out and play by themselves, not so much about them being caught in a crossfire but the likelihood of them being abducted.dajodo2 said:

I agree 110 %. The police have to do their work to ensure that the low-lifes pay for what they did, and to possibly help prevent this from happening again. The efforts may not succeed. I agree with most of what you are saying. As you rightly point out however, gangs exist within many races, thus making it a social issue. Racial within each specific group perhaps, but the larger issue is social. I don't believe we should continue on our current immigration path, this has caused many of the social issues we face and left many professionally qualified immigrants driving cabs. We need to change the way we look at immigration and limit it somewhat to people who can positively contribute to our society rather than become burdens on our legal and social structure.Top Northerner said:

I may be a bleeding heart liberal but that doesn't mean I have to be soft on crime. Crime is crime no matter what the background. Make it known what the potential cost of a crime is and people will think twice.Quest4Less said:
You gotta spend some upfront for more jail capacity before it sinks in that the country is real. And sadly the judiciary have to have their go at limiting the new laws and penalties. So no immediate changes will happen until all the appeals are exhausted. This doesn't mean you don't do it.
