The property of gold that is most important is that the surface does not oxidize, gold is used extensively in connectors where electrical contact must be made reliably. Both copper and silver have surface oxidation that is non-conductive so no electrical contact is actually made.
What a crazy chart. Post 9/11 its skyrocketed.
I sold the farm to get in a month ago. Getting scary. Don't know when to cash out.

Rust formed on the surface of of a piece of iron degrades
the value of the metal.

The black tarnish that could develop on the surface of silver
bullion is a layer of sulfide. I do not know how that property
affects use of the metal in electronics. But it shouldn't make
silver coins less durable than gold coins.
Watch this video:

Gold, Silver, Platinum, and any precious metals might go up higher this year.

Global banks will be changing their monetary policy with US national debt is over $38.43 trillion USD.

Up ~16% since the start of the year. Week to week, the volatility is +/- 10%, silver is the new bitcoin.

Just wait till US attacks Iran
I don't see US attacking Iran without suffering enormous damage.

Could go up more by mid-year. It depends on how US fair with this monetary policy.

At the same time, it will be a good opportunity to buy financial assets besides commodities.

Commodities are in a supercycle - personally I will go heavy silver, uranium, platinum and potash stocks.

They are moving steady.

Silver

We will see - the Venezuela operation was quite impressive.
It doesn't mean anything. The country is still independent from US government.

US can't afford to sent massive troops without going bankrupt.

Plus Russia, Pakistani and China won't allow US to take over Iran without paying the heavy price.

It is two things that is raising the tide for all boats, the general fear of inflation and AI WTF. To counter the fear of inflation, I think gold is the best commodity. To take advantage of AI WTF you want commodities directly used by Nvidia to make their servers, if Jensen says he needs longdicknium, I would long longdicknium.

Uranium, platinum and potash is at best tangentially related to AI and gold is a better hedge against inflation IMHO.

Gold and silver are the only commodities I hold.

To each their own. Some long term ratio charts are showing platinum and uranium will outperform.

Silver going over 100 in next week or so. Wheeee!!!

Gold momentum and geopolitics looks like 5000 by March at latest.

Playing the bigger miners and some juniors for leveraged returns. Their valuations still lag the pricing.

US will strike something in Iran to send a message. Oil looks like a good short term trade but not a longer hold this year. Look for 70 dollar WTI

lol pretty sure other leaders will do what US wants so they don't get Maduro'd.
Probably. We will see how it goes.

It is always about distance and timing too.

I think all precious metals will rise quite a bit due to all the money printing.

Good luck.

wheeeeeee! Big open on Monday morning I think. And more geopolitical fireworks likely at Davos this week. Gold 4825 this week at least and silver minimum 97-98…the problem is that markets generally will drop so watch your whole portfolio. Pissed off Europeans will be dumping US Treasuries and other investments

If inflation and rising industrial demand are the only factors
driving up the price I would say silver market is already in the
bubble territory.

In my view the major driving force in the dynamics of gold
and silver prices is the shift in paradigm in the world of
currencies. People are losing faith in fiat currencies. People
in India and China and sooner or later central banks in the
developing world as well will be turning to gold and silver as
the safe haven alternative to the USD. I won't rule out the
possibility of silver price pulling back to $80 or even $70. But
if I am expecting silver to rise to anywhere within $300--$1000
in the next 2 to 3 years I won't want to sell my silver mining
shares or bullion in anticipation of a correction.
