Are all SIM cards (for cell phones) the same? Is newer better than older? Do they have different amounts of memory?
Fido gives you a new one when you purchase a new phone so I've never had to buy one. However I did inquire recently and if I remember correctly they were $40.Keebler Elf said:That's what I figured. How much are SIMs? I've never seen them sold separately.
Most providers will allow you to change the phone number for about $35. It has to be a number from the same provider though (i.e. Fido-fido)Keebler Elf said:I'm currently using Fido. Changing the SIM card requires you to change phone numbers doesn't it?
I actually don't want to change the number though, just the SIM card.l69norm said:Most providers will allow you to change the phone number for about $35. It has to be a number from the same provider though (i.e. Fido-fido)
They can definitely put your current number onto the new sim. Call them *611, they will do it over the phone.Keebler Elf said:Thanks guys. I'll check into it.
You can ask your service provider to transfer your info onto a new Sim Card.thewheelman said:You can buy a new SIM card for $25 at any Rogers store. Then you call in and activate it for what ever number you currently have, replacing your current SIM card.
SIM cards do wear out on the contact points. No free exchanges, $25.
I suppose Bell is similiar.
