Just curious, I plan on switching from the CDMA network to GSM and I was wondering about the sim cards.

I am probably going to go with Fido and was wondering how much the sim card goes for cause I see alot of adds on CL and Kijiji for people selling sim cards brand new and/or used. Is it safe to buy one off somebody rather than from Rogers/Fido?

How much do sim cards generally go for?

Should I simply buy one from Fido when creating a new account or does it really matter?

I thought the whole idea of buying a used sim was to take over the previous owner's plan which may have some special deal that you can't get anymore like unlimited incoming calls or data.

Some where in Cyber Space
The pervious owner of the sim card could have been cloned and a hundred copies made. The owner get a serious bill for calls not made by him/her and the account would be cancelled. Do you really want some esles card, that could be stolen?

drrogers

DrRogers has left the Bld
The only trick is

Shop and negotiate - forget about used sim cards - more of a headache than they are worth. Spend some time checking out the openly offered rates - finde the best deals - doesn't matter whether it is Bell or Rogers because Rogers will match Bell.

And then don't accept the first offers - negotiate - negotiate and bully - don't deal with a reseller ie Rogers or Fide store or Kiosk - call and do it online - and if you don't get what you think is the best deal - ask for a supervisor -
