But she was also robbed of the chance to be someone who re-invents herself in different musical styles in the public eye.
Something broader than a pop star.
Would she have done that?
Or would it have been like Fiona Apple who burned out because the music industry demanding she was a pop star sucked and she came back later on her own terms?
I don't know.
But I do think she would be better known if she hadn't spoken out.
She didn't care about be being "better known". She was just someone that loved music who became a political activist her talent happened to get her noticed.
