Shhhhiiiitttt!

It a good thing I didn't check my e-mails earlier. Got an invitation to an "adult" Halloween Party but I was in condition to attend. Gotta figure out how to kick the cancer sticks.

There's no good reason to keep smoking. Health, finance and social acceptance are all reasons. You have to want to, that's the biggest challenge. Just do it.

Never smoked.

But I have sat bedside in hospital watching someone who did smoke die of lung cancer. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

You should quit.

I know it's self defeating, my good friend fuji.

Especially with the precautions I take with my food. My doctor...you know my doctor Dr. Salvatore Boom Bats...told me me to cut down on salt. So I went the Jamie Oliver route and bought a mortar and pistil just to put flavour into what I eat with less salt. Low fat dairy products are inedible.

The cigarettes are cornholing my vitality, this morning I took a run on The Humber Trail and wheezed my way up to the McMichael Gallery. Two very hot girls in yoga pants ran by me like I wasn't even there.

How low can I fuckin go!

I know this is not the place for this post, but i find more ppl read this thread than the otherones lol..

So question, who quit smoking recently, why, and ahould i do the same, did you guys do it alone or as a group, and how hard is it to stay away from lighting up.
Nobody likes a quitter. If you enjoy it why stop? Plus the province needs the tax revenue.

About 5 years ago a doctor checked me out and said I was in good condition but my blood pressure was high. She gave me a prescription for high blood pressure pills. I resisted taking these pills for a year. On my next visit a year later she suggested the HBP pills again. I said I felt fine. She told me that I may feel fine now, but in time high blood pressure will take its toll. I started to take the pills and got a BP cuff to monitor my blood pressure. Looking back now my BP was 170/90 then and now it averages 135/75. I stopped chipping away at my health and now I am investing in the quality of life at the end.

If you want to give yourself a scare, got to the hospital entrance on a cold 3-5C day and see all the decrepit patients in their bathrobes outside smoking and hacking away. Some with IV poles and oxygen mask. The end is near for them and it will not be pleasant.

FYI- You can buy drugs at Costco at the drugstore without a Costco membership. Their BP cuffs are good quality and not expensive. The Costco membership will only save you big when the US dollar is near par with the CDN $
