Huge addiction, tried a couple a times. The best way that worked for me is cold turkey. Decide a day that you're going to do it. The day before get rid of all parphelia. If you have to stay home in bed all day do it. The physical part is not more than 72 hours. If you want support go to smokers anonymous. You must want it badly enough, don't wait, I know lots of people that died of lung cancer.

You have to look how disgusting it really is, look at the pros of quitting, financial, physical, energy etc
The negatives, your breath smells like a ashtray, you're fingers get yellow, your teeth, coughing up mucus etc.
You can do it if you put your foot down.

hey thanks :)
I've tried everything in the past. Hypnotism, laser therapy, etc ... Zyban actually had me successfully stop for six years... but the side effects were wacky. This time I used the patch with the inhaler for the occasional tough craving. My biggest problem is remembering to put a fresh patch on in the morning. I also don't find they look very sexy so sometimes remove them for work... then I notice the cravings start... uugghhh... it's a struggle for sure but worth it. Good luck :)
Don't bother with patches, meds etc its like methadone...it keeps you in the frame of mind, just taking the product in a diffrent way. Cold turkey is the way to go.

The book is an easy read (under 200 pages, I think), costs about $20, and the author encourages you to smoke while reading it. I opened a new pack when I started reading, smoked about 10 cigs, finished the book, and threw out the pack. All in one day. That was 3+ years ago. Good luck on quitting, hope the book helps.
