Just in case I have raided the LCBO and preordered Pizza and Wings at my favorite Pizza Joint.

Fucking plow woke me up at 5 a.m.

Plowing Side Streets ALREADY????

I look out the window, and there's maybe 2 cm of snow. I can still clearly see the windshield of my car, the top of the garbage can. No accumulation to speak of. 3 pieces of snow clearing equipment with their back up alarms blaring away clearing a side street with virtually no accumulation.

I turn on CP 24 and they are making this out to be the end of days. Schools closed? Hell, when I was a kid unless there was about 2 feet of snow already on the ground - it was off to school kid.

I think these guys totally missed this one and blew it way out of proportion.

Yep, just went and looked outside, I could clear my walkway with a corn broom.

Fine.

There's max 5 cm of snow on the ground. MAX.

They totally misjudged this one. Yesterday they were saying that it was going to be the biggest snow in 4 years. Har. Not even close.

This snowstorm is a dud. It's a hobbying we will go tonight for me unless it dramatically changes for the worse. Did they say it will continue to snow all day and night? I see it lightly snowing still against the backdrop of the street lights.

Weathermen just get excited when they can talk about anything out of the ordinary and tend to go overboard a bit.
It's not that bad here in Vaughan, the snowploughs have cleared the streets already. Emily Vukovic getting excited - I don't have a problem with that.

Started from London at about 2 am, probably about 10cm of snow on the 401 all the way to highway 6. All three lanes were being used and no one was having trouble. Wind was high, and the road was slick, but no snow coming down until around 4 am. By that time I was down in Hamilton. Still not that bad, though it seems most people can't judge where their lane is very well when there's snow on the ground.... Got to the Gardner around 4:30 and they had all the lanes closed because of downed power lines. No biggy, took a detour to Yonge (my destination). Got my shit done and headed south for the 401 and westbound. Mississauga was the worst with about 20cm on the road. Almost got run off the highway by a tractor trailer.

I grew up driving in huge snowfalls so this was a piece of cake. But I can see why some people were worried, what with all the crappy drivers I saw this morning. Keep alert, and act to counteract the idiots and you'll be fine. I think this storm is just about wrapped up. I'm turning in.

Hamilton area is getting hammered. Side streets not plowed, about 20cm on the ground now and its still falling. Already called in to work :). To bad road conditions will keep me from visiting my fav sp.

Well, as a major snow storm, this one is a dud from my window. Lots of cloud, lots of grey, just enough on the ground to make driving slippery.

This is a monster Zero.

I'm pretty sure Toronto just wanted to hype it up . plows been out since midnight salting and 5 am plowing according to cp24 waste of tax payers money if you ask me . i shoveled what little snow there was at 3 am outside my house , woke up this morning to my 82 year old neighbor shoveling her driveway .

and for CAA and all those people reporting accidents in the hundreds maybe people in Toronto need to get there cold weather driving done before they get a full license , people just dont know how to drive thats all it seems.

burt-oh-my!

What I find funny is how, even though this now CLEARLY is no big deal, the press are all geared up for it so , by golly, they are going to pound away at this story all day regardless of the fact that it is a bit of a non-story.

I thought the exact same thing. Reminds me of one time they were predicting this hurricane down in the Carolinas and every Talking Head was out there for the big story and it amounted to be a rain storm. You could tell by the looks on the reporters faces that it was laughable. There is no story here either.

I'm sitting in my office, looking out the window and there's a few flakes coming down, maybe 5 cm on the ground and I highly doubt anything severe is going to whip up at this point. Funnily enough, I was getting excited about a good blizzard. Even went and bought some groceries last night.

I've seen lots of blizzards over the years. I love the howling wind and driving snow. This is a flurrie.

Even my cat went out for a sniff for about 10 minutes this morning.

I think I'll have a barbeque for dinner tonight.
