Without giving too much away, I have a client with a particular fetish. We get together frequently, and I charge him the regular rate for the hour, and he rarely stays the full hour but never complains and gives me the full amount.

Well, when he leaves, I have to get a new manicure. I always break my nails. This past appointment, I broke 4 nails right in half. By the time I pay for the manicure, I have made $30 on his appointment, which isn't worth it for me.

Is it fair to make him pay a premium because I need maintenance afterward and he doesn't stay the full hour?

Any suggestions would be great.

It's tough to ask a loyal client to pay more, especially if you're happy with him.

Can you adjust the session so it isn't so hard on your nails?
Or perhaps you can wear some fake claws or use an instrument to scratch up his back even better?

I'm not clawing his back or his penis. They are impact breaks. My nails are fake, and no, it doesn't really hurt, but it's reaching crisis level. I get brand new nails every week. I simply cannot afford it.

I don't think the question should be whether it's fair or not (life ain't fair), but whether you think seeing him under the current arrangement you have is worth it (in terms of time, cost, work, etc.) for you or not.

You already suggested it isn't. So the next question is, under what conditions would it be worth it for you to keep him as a client, if any?

Present those new conditions to him, and the choice is then his to accept them or find someone else.

Your place!!
I think you need to talk to him and explain the situation and come to some kind of compromise if possible.

I was going to suggest what Brill said. Like guitar finger picks that slide to the end of your fingers.

Simple answer would be to stop getting your nails done? I think I'm biased because I don't keep long nails (for massaging deep). Talk to the guy and at let him know that you are having issues keeping yourself the way he likes it. His session is the direct cause of needing to get your nails done, so a compromise should be made.
