We have had things approaching it that made places like South Dakota one of the US hot spots. Not fully controlled but it sure makes it a reasonable conclusion that jurisdictions with no mask mandates do poorly despite limited population density.
And where in that study do they document that these free virions are responsible for any noticeable number of infections? Oh that's right, they don't.
Even if those free particles did cause infection, respiratory droplets and aerosolized droplets represent the vector for most infections so masks significantly reduce infections by limiting them.
There have been a bunch of studies that suggest Covid can be spread through free-floating viral particles.
I will post them for you since you apparently need to be educated on it.
But first, are you and shack going to admit you didnt know Covid-19 can be breathed, sneezed or coughed out as free virus particles, in addition to droplets??

If airborne transmission is a significant factor in the pandemic, especially in crowded spaces with poor ventilation, the consequences for containment will be significant. Masks may be needed indoors, even in socially-distant settings. Health care workers may need N95 masks that filter out even the smallest respiratory droplets as they care for coronavirus patients.
Which is why I said numerous times only N95 masks work, not those flimsy masks most people are currently wearing

I do wear a mask, I just dont think they've made any difference in reducing the spread.
Our 2nd Ontario wave is almost three times as bad as our 1st wave.

Much of the spread is from indoor gatherings. Also, many do NOT wear or handle their masks properly. Under the nose or as a chin guard is a perfect recipe for getting COVID and then claiming "but I always wear my mask". Also, I don't buy the schools are not a problem. Yes within the school it's controlled but these kids are gathering after school and recess and spreading it to one another and bringing it home. Yet, much is hidden as to not shut the schools down and have parents forced to stay home to babysit. When people meet up with friends and family they get a false sense of security. They remove the mask, have a coffee at the table and just like that, you get cases.
Masks used properly will work, carelessness will not.
There are lots of qualified people with tons of credentials that say they do.
I guess you've never been in a meeting, presented with a thousand papers a day before hand? You believe most sit and read every single page? It's more like a quick skim and off to the meeting. If you are an expert in your field, you adapt and roll with it. 99.9% all are quacks, have ulterior motives and maybe Doctors in title but not in virology and epidemiology experts.
