Sammy Sosa just passed the 600 homer plateau. Would he or could he be a first ballot candidate or will the lingering steroid scandal tarnish a great career?
Why not then? Lots of "heroes" are honored if they are public steroid users or not.healer677 said:I'm not sure -I think he just kept his mouth shut.....and lost some weight. I know Giambi is under fire, Bonds is standing in the fire but as for Sosa I'm not sure either. Wasn't he at that hearing with Palmeiro, McGwire and the rest of those guys?
Dude, why don't you just call him a spear chucker and get it over with.scouser1 said:this guy is such a phoney jackass, from the looking like a roid monkey, to the corked bat, lets not forget the no hablo ingles all the sudden in front of Congress, I am hoping the writers remember all those when it comes to voting time.
Of course it was not banned. Steroids were not even banned until 2002 IIRC !!!m91us said:One look at the annual baseball cards will show how a slim Sosa became a bulked-up Sosa. During the '90's seasons, one has to question MLB policies to check if Creatin considered to be a banned supplement? McGwire was definitely taking Creatin along with other substances.
Should Sosa make it into the HOF? Based on the statistics: yes. Does Sosa deserves to be in the HOF? I'm still pondering if he cheated with banned substance.
That's my two cents.
Mcgwire barely got less than 25% of the votes on his 1st time on the ballot. Sosa won't do any better, and likely worse.healer677 said:Sammy Sosa just passed the 600 homer plateau. Would he or could he be a first ballot candidate or will the lingering steroid scandal tarnish a great career?

Sammi has good numbers and if the writers go by numbers alone he's a lock. The problem is he's number 2 in the cloud of suspicion. My problem with that is suspicion should not prevent you from going into the HOF, where we have wife beaters, drunks, drug users, and cheats.
