Thoughts on this? I’ve seen quite a few Twitter posts recently for either a sick pet, short on rent. Just wondering if a situation like this has a positive outcome with receiving said future appointment.

Really this is quite similiar to asking for a deposit in advance of your appointment. Except in this case they are probably asking for more . Likelihood of working out is close to nil.

In my case, I have an MA that I’ve only seen three times who last visit had asked if I can prepay a few sessions due to her sick cat. In regards, I would only have to pay the door fee the following appointments.
Unsure how that would work if she cancels, blocks me etc. Guess it’s best to go with gut instinct on this one.

I have to get to know a MA/SP really well and develop a lot of trust to do this, its happened only once for me, with a part time SP that was a single mom and needed some help

Central Ont. between here & there
when the pandemic 1st hit in 2020, I did prepay a couple of ladies that I've seen numerous times in the past & I was rewarded with some great sessions later on with them that summer.

Plus there was a couple did raffles for $50 I think with only a limited number of tickets. Never did that, but I thought of it for 1 SP that I saw in the past. I think there was a duo raffle draw too at 1 point.

This question is easily answered if you put the shoe on the other foot...it's four days to payday, will you get laid tonight ?

I've done this social experiment many times. 100% fail rate for what it's worth, but they were TOFTT. I was just really curious to see what would happen. If i knew / trusted the SP i wouldn't have a problem with it.

For me, only one experience, somewhat similar in nature. While I was driving to an incall, another driver ran a red light and seriously damaged my car. EMTs were called to the scene. I quickly texted the SP (who I had seen several times before) to tell her I would need to cancel/reschedule. I included a pic of my damaged car ($6,000+ worth). She told me her rent was due and asked if I could interact transfer her the payment. I, rather shaken at the time, was sympathetic, liked her and sent her the full payment, including the modest tip I had been giving her. She thanked me and told me to let her know when I'd like to see her and that the session was 'prepaid'. I tried to contact her several times in the following weeks and never received a reply. Take away what ever you want from my experience. When Covid first hit, I offered a few of my 'regulars' assistance in the form of grocery gift cards. None of them took me up on the offer, although one did ask me to drive her to pick up her own groceries a couple of times. She is a class act in my book...accepting assistance but not taking advantage.

Yes I'm always amazed when regulars are willing to give up all the income they could get off you in the future to scam you for the price of one date....they are very short sighted

Some people, not only SWs, suffer from 'issues' that make them irrational at times. Never be surprised by human behavior. It's what starts protests that devastate downtowns, try to overturn elections and start wars as well.

I received a piece of advice as a teen that took a while to really understand, accept, and apply, but had I done it sooner I would have saved a friendship or two. The advice I received is this:

When it comes to money, only give what you are willing to part with. If you would not give it for free, do not lend it, as it will likely never come back.

People seriously overestimate their ability to repay debts and underestimate their willingness to ruin a relationship because of it.

I follow a few providers on Twitter who towards the end of the month always seem to come up with car trouble, their cell phone broke or a sick pet they can't afford to take to the vet. And inevitably a few days later there's a post of how grateful they are for a "special gentleman" helping them out.

One I don't think even sees people anymore, she just gets free food and money out of men stupid enough to fall for it.

I agree with you, and I feel the same way, because I've seen the exact same thing more than a few times.

As for what else on this topic I feel, if the women can't save their money for the slow periods and asking for handouts all the time, I do not do it at all. They need to learn how to save up like us hobbyists have to do in most cases.

There are also some that beg for handouts, and "promise" for services at a later date, and they either block you, or do not follow through

just my opinion, not looking for arguments
