What's the point? You change your name and then you put your former name in parentheses. I really don't understand.

Brand identity is everything in the service industry. Many things can change over the course of time that can positively and negatively affect brand identity and image. Sex work is a very competitive industry, and reinventing yourself through re-branding can help to keep you appearing new, fresh, and unknown - and as such, very appealing to the target consumer.

Some start with a name just to get into the business but then see that branding is important and so they change their name to reflect that new branding. However to not confuse people and to keep regulars, they just add their old name for a while until the transfer of the name is known enough and the branding on the new name has kicked in.

But if you still have your old name on your ad, the same scammers or unpleasant clients will still know where to find you. If you had been outed, you are still out. You are still the same person even if you go by a different name. This "rebranding" business doesn't make any sense at all.

And yes, it's a free country, so SP's can do whatever they want. It just seems redundant.

You are missing the point. It is not to "avoid" anyone.

It is to be transparent until such a time as the old name has faded away and the new name and branding are working.

If an agency girl starts as Sara and goes Indy wanting to be Cameron Star for her Indy career, she keeps the "Sara" on the side until everyone knows. That is rebranding. It is not about hiding or outing.

When it is hiding, they don't share the old name just come out with a new name, new pics etc.

Some rebranding is a whole name change, some just add a last name, change a last name only or first name only. There are plenty of reasons. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it is redundant.

What is there to make sense of? People do strange, redundant, etc things all the time. They obviously feel there's a good reason to do it even they were outed. One very good reason to keep the old name is so people can use the search box to find their ad or reviews. Seems that many people here have an issue using it for some reason.

What I don't like is when a lady changes her name because she's gotten well-deserved.bad reviews.

This happens once in a while in both the sp and mpa worlds.

Often when I book with a new lady I'll ask the booker if she previously worked under another name.

A provider with well deserved negative/bad reviews will often change names and agencies in hopes of not being remembered.
Not all agencies are forthcoming with a provider's past because either the provider doesn't tell them, or she wants to start new and has promised to deliver better experiences to the clients.
I find that the guys on here are pretty good at exposing the agency and name changes.
I really like the fact that when Mirage brings a new woman on they say "New to Mirage" or "New to the industry".

Ok. I guess I just don't get this rebranding idea. I guess when someone rebrands herself, it's safe to assume her services will be different? I've seen some ladies who are trying to rebrand herself, but everything is exactly the same. What's the point then?

If you didn't change your name in the first place, people wouldn't have to search for your reviews with different names?

The point is that people and businesses change their names all the time because they want to. Not sure why this is so hard to understand. There are numerous other examples where businesses change their name yet offer the same thing: KFC, Freedom Mobile, Research in Motion, etc.

Based on your logic, escorts should never change their name for any reason just to make it easier for you to search?

I agree. They can do whatever they want. I was merely pointing out the hole in your response.

I just explained it to you. Why are you refusing to hear anything other than your own opinion?

Girl starts out at an agency under the name Sara because they just gave her any old name. She goes Indy. She never liked the name Sara. She wants a new name or as most indies have, a last name to help identify her out of all the other Sara's out there working.

She starts her rebranding under her new name, keeping her old name in brackets because she has nothing to hide, wants her clients to find her, wants potential clients to find her reviews. She doesn't have to start adding new services to her menu, why? Why does anything have to be different other then her choice of name?

So having explained it again, Is that ok with you? Is that situation acceptable for you now? Do you see the point?

Or is she to stay single name Sara for the next 10 years because you don't get the point?

We are not talking about ladies who change their name to hide from being outed or for bad reviews. Because that is not what you asked about. You asked about the ones who keep their old name in brackets. So talking about the former and not the latter is what is pointless.

If you hated the name Sara this much, why not just start your career with your favourite name.

As for your second comment, what you quoted was a response to someone else's comment.

I guess I still don't get it. But you are right, it's none of my business. Let's leave it at that.
