When I lived in Montreal this was a huge media sensation at the time but on second thought perhaps an inappropriate question for a trivia quiz. So, I am withdrawing the question about the Montreal Canadien defenseman who had an affair with a female usher.

At the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria, Canada won exactly one gold, one silver, one bronze, and one 'wood medal', for 4th place. Please name at least one of these 'medalists' as described, and the specific competition(s) in which they attained extended Olympic podium status.
Gold- Kathy Kreiner-Women's Giant Slalom

Bronze-Toller Cranston-Men's Figure Skating

hmmm, don't know Silver or "Wood"

e1) What famous quotation, with an anatomically impossible antecedent, (a boast by then Montreal mayor Jean Drapeau), with reference to the possibility of defecit spending in funding for the Montreal games, was later proven to have had a false premise? This boast was later mocked by an editorial cartoon by Terry (Aislin) Mosher of the Montreal Gazette, and was the title of, and on the cover of, one of Mosher's trade paperback collected works. (the precise wording of the quotation is required).
Something like, there's as much chance of running a deficit as there is of a man having a baby.

Skyrider, your question is perfectly acceptable within TERB 'domestic' trivia, just perhaps not appropriate for competition against other teams. You could reword it, in such a way that there could be only one answer here. We want to know that, here on a private board, but the question, as is, isn't specific enough. Tell us something about the player, (2nd round selection, etc, once traded for...Is he still on the Canadiens? If not, he's a former Hab. Is he still playing? Anything distinguishing about him that might allow someone to guess his identity, and then you could give us the dirt?.

I'm taking it upon myself to try to stump everyone here, but I'm not allowed to answer my own questions, nor give hints that I wouldn't give to other teams. Cheating isn't allowed; honour system applies. Adjudication isn't a hint, but deceipt by way of a specifically worded question that is not necessarily properly interpreted is a big part of strategy, for the team issuing the challenge, with declared score.

We would expect no less, fom another team challenging us, to a time limited test, for multiple player teams. It's OK to do advanced research about a question you're asking, because everyone is ineligible to answer their own questions, for the declared score total. Right now, were competing with each other in real time, and also for the team, after month end. I use blue or red bold text when I'm moderating a question I pose. In regular text, I'm just one of the guys saying something, offering suggestions, not telling you what to do. As is, it's gossip, not trivia, but we guys like both! Don't withdraw it prematurely....Unless you're Catholic!

I hear you but the affair was never proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Only the two people actually allegedly involved know the whole truth. I don't want to cast aspersions on that defenseman's reputation. (I don't want a repeat of the Brian Burke situation or the rumours about a hockey player messing with another hockey player's wife.) The decent thing to do is to withdraw the question.

I was credited with a goal at the 0.00 mark of the 1st period in an NHL game. Who am I?

Who was the first pro basketball player to have shattered a backboard?

I don't know if he was the first, but first that I saw was Darrell Dawkins.
No, not Dawkins.

This one is a tuffy, here are some clues:

White guy

he also played some MLB

he was drafted by a pro football club, but never played a down

His pro sports career was short lived, as he decided to pursue an acting career in HollyWood where he became a household name on TV

I'm not being "Little Sir Echo", shack. I just read and replied to an question I saw which hadn't been confirmed to have been answered correctly. I don't know if Dawkins was first, either. I answer with a period at the end, if I'm sure.
