Anyone know where to get alcohol or kerosene lamp / burners? Or just the wicks so I can make one myself? Anywhere I can buy candle wicks by the bundle?

We still have the old style kerosene lamps that my great grandmother left too us. I THINK the last time we replaced the wicks we took them to the local hardware store up here who oddly enough still had some kicking around.
Get in touch with an antique store, they may have info on where to find the burners or the wicks.

Just a thought.... There is a jeweler's supply place in the basement of 55 Queen St. E, TO, that sells small lab type alcohol burners (about the size of palm of your hand) for wax modeling... Might want to try there.

Candle wicks or lamp wicks? Lamp wicks can sometimes be found at Army Surplus store or if your in the country try your feed supply stores. I'm surprised you can find the wicks, try some handy craft stores or Michaels at Dixie Value Mall.

one more question.... Can you put Kerosene in Alcohol lamp? I know the reverse can be explosive, but Kerosene is less flamable than alcohol, it depends if the wick used in alcohol can draw kerosene up? anyone know?
