I just took a hot steaming turd not ten minutes ago that looks better than the prequels. Raise the fucking bar!looks waaay better than the crap job they did with the three prequels.
You can just feel the effect of JJ Abrams, even in that clip.
LOL. Poor JJ will be eating shit over "lens glare" forever.Nicely done.
You should give Starship Troopers a chance. While Heinlein was a fucking nutter and his book was a paean to some fascist ideal, Verhoeven took the piss and took the piss hard in his movie. Remember all the TV ads and other dystopian notes in Robocop? Multiply it by ten. Hell, the very first scene in Starship Troopers is almost cut-for-cut mirroring Triumph of the Will, just to let you know where he stood on this particular vision of the future. Peel away all the killing-alien-bugs-and-blowing-shit-up, and NOTHING about this future was portrayed as desirable or even particularly functional.Considering that my family lost it's wealth and was forced to immigrate to Canada due to the after effects of fascism, I'm intolerant to watching it on screen. Starship Troopers had the same effect.
I'm a huge fan of Verhoeven's Dutch language films and I did watch Starship Troopers through. Primarily because Clancy Brown (Highlander, Shawshank) was part of the cast, but after doing so I felt like I had a turd in my mouth.
I slept through most of Phantom menace...didn't Jar Jar Binks get hung drawn and quartered by the Sith? Seriously, one of George Lucas's favorite films is Song of the South. Old Walt himself used to love blackface comedy and wanted to do a Technicolour remake of Birth of a Nation but his advisors talked him out of it.
In the interest of equal time, here is the video of the best of Jar Jar Binks....
I'm not sure if your being sarcastic or not, but if your serious you are the only person I've heard say this. Most people think he ruined the movie, and there were people who even put up websites to support the fact he was such a poor character.I'm looking forward to seeing Jar Jar Binks again in this movie. He was hilarious in the Phantom Menace.
