Yawn.

Never figured out why this franchise was so popular, only The Empire Strikes Back is a classic. Star wars was decent enough but the rest sucked. And the prequels were fascist fantasies, shame on anyone who paid to see them in a theater. Star Wars deserves JJ Abrams, overrated director. The next Star Trek will be infinitely better.

But then in my youth I was a Mad Max fan:

Considering that my family lost it's wealth and was forced to immigrate to Canada due to the after effects of fascism, I'm intolerant to watching it on screen. Starship Troopers had the same effect.

And George Lucas never did anything like this:

I'm looking forward to seeing Jar Jar Binks again in this movie. He was hilarious in the Phantom Menace.

You should give Starship Troopers a chance. While Heinlein was a fucking nutter and his book was a paean to some fascist ideal, Verhoeven took the piss and took the piss hard in his movie. Remember all the TV ads and other dystopian notes in Robocop? Multiply it by ten. Hell, the very first scene in Starship Troopers is almost cut-for-cut mirroring Triumph of the Will, just to let you know where he stood on this particular vision of the future. Peel away all the killing-alien-bugs-and-blowing-shit-up, and NOTHING about this future was portrayed as desirable or even particularly functional.

I'm a huge fan of Verhoeven's Dutch language films and I did watch Starship Troopers through. Primarily because Clancy Brown (Highlander, Shawshank) was part of the cast, but after doing so I felt like I had a turd in my mouth.

I slept through most of Phantom menace...didn't Jar Jar Binks get hung drawn and quartered by the Sith? Seriously, one of George Lucas's favorite films is Song of the South. Old Walt himself used to love blackface comedy and wanted to do a Technicolour remake of Birth of a Nation but his advisors talked him out of it.

Like myself, if you're a fan of Paul Verhoeven's films you absolutely must see The 4th Man.

I'm not sure if your being sarcastic or not, but if your serious you are the only person I've heard say this. Most people think he ruined the movie, and there were people who even put up websites to support the fact he was such a poor character.
