I agree with everything said in this post, from first hand experience as well, their attitude was not pleasant to me, now I know why, I was straight, lol. Sorry Jen, they say no hassle, but there is a bit of hassle and they do input everything into the system, but they claim it stays in there and won't be revealed to anyone unless there's a positive result, then they notify your doctor and the government if HIV positive. Too much hassle, so I passed.

I disagree with almost everything you've said. I've been to Hassle Free three times (1 HIV test, 2 STD tests). They ask for OHIP cards for STD tests but HIV tests and results are anonymous by law. If you test positive, Health Canada is notified that someone in Toronto at that clinic tested positive but that's it. They don't have your information so they can't notify your doctor. That's why you need an appointment for an HIV test but walk in for everything else. When I booked my HIV appointment I told them that my name was Peter Griffin and no one doubted it (got a chuckle from a few people waiting when they called my name though)

When I went to the hassle free clinic a few years ago, I was treated very well (straight guy). They were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. I did get a lecture, I expected it. Except for the long wait, it wasn't a bad experience considering the reason I was there.

The reality is that as a hetro male - you are not going to contract HIV by having BBFS from any female and they (Hassle Free) know it, but can't say it. You have better odds of getting hit by a bus. They are there to assist those most at risk.

The chances of contracting HIV unprotected vaginal sex are low but they're certainly not non-existant. No one can say with 100% certainty but the odds are somewhere in the neighbourhood of 1 in 2000 exposures. It's still not something I'm going to risk, especially considering that I'll have sex with anything with a pulse (except dudes).

However, the HIV virus is a very frail virus, it cannot enter your urethra and infect you like bacterial can. It must enter the blood stream.

It's more likely to get into your blood stream through the very thin membrane just below the head of the penis. Uncircumcised men are more likely to contract the disease in that manner because the foreskin keeps that thin membrane protected and doesn't allow it to "toughen up". Fluids also get trapped inside the foreskin allowing for prolonged exposure.
