While I will recommend the HF Clinic, I'm not so sure about every 3 or 4 months.

Last time I called HF, the guy got a little pissy with me on the phone once he determined I was not engaging in Bare Back Anal with men. In a nutshell, I was told that if I had been tested within the last 2 years to wait for my 2 year anniversary. Also, you have to wait 3 months since your last Bare back session - which is again bullshit.
I think I've spoke to that dude before. If you ever get that hassle from them again, ask to speak with the clinic director or manager. I've spoke to, probably the same guy, a few times and told him that I wanted to be tested.. but he got pissy with me, too, when he realized that even though it was with multiple partners (SPs) that because I used a condom, that I didn't need to be tested. I called back and complained and they told me to come in and ask specifically to see a doc. A lot the people you see first in the HFC are just volunteer screeners and not actual doctors. They screen you before the doc comes in to diagnose/treat/etc. A lot of them can be douchey, that's for sure. So yeah, just ask specifically to see the doc.

^^^ The front office is staffed almost entirely by guys like that. I think they may even be volunteers. I don't know. But the doctors in the back are fine.

Yep, it's true. I've had to use a mix of complaining about being a donor and not getting the "hassle free" service (and I am a donor) that they claim to dole out. They really do an about-face when they realize they are pissing off someone who supports their funding. If I have to lie, I usually just tell them that I'm starting a new relationship and the both of us are getting tests to make sure we're clean before we have unprotected sex. I guess they see that as uber-responsible as they never give me a problem after that.

I have also had hassles at Hassle Free so I started going to other clinics. It's best to call the phone numbers for more information. The hours are very limited, but for me it's better than making a trip downtown and all attitude and grief I get at HF.

James t kirk- that's unfortunate.

They have a walk in clinic daily- I've heard you have to show up 30 minutes beforehand to get in.

I've called the clinic same-day and gotten in. I once had a minor girl thing that required a prescription. Not only did they see me- but gave me 7 days worth of antibiotics for free without even asking for my health card.

I test myself regularly and know that at least a few of my regulars do too.

I'm really grateful for their service - I don't have a family doctor in Toronto and the hsf has proven to be a better option than walk in clinics on my experience.

Any other walkin clinics you'd recommend in downtown ? I don't have a family physician and haven't got a physical for like 5 years.

If you've already got a regular doctor, there's no point looking for a better alternative. There's no reason to get embarrassed; you're both adults, and he's a professional. Those guys have already seen and heard it all, and they're not allowed to tell anyone about your dirty little secrets.

My office is close to the Rexdale Clinic but after speaking with a nurse, that clinic is really for immigrant patients (it seems to serve the Somalian community, etc.) and that I'm better off just going to my nearest Doctor's Clinic.

Captian Kirk re-iterates my opinion that Hassle Free is not really that Hassle Free for straight male hobbyists, but if I lived downtown, I'd make a donation to that clinic and use it cuz they're not judgmental.

I can't blame them for having screeners, frankly.

Avoid family Doctor, my doctor wasn't too happy when I ask for STD test done.
Sounds to me like you should avoid your family doctor period. Who wants a healthy side of judgement with their healthcare? The last time I asked my FD for one, he made absolutely no reaction either way.

Same here, all my FD said to me was always use a condom for everything, intercourse and oral (no lectures etc.). I think he knew I was seeing escorts.

I tried visiting the Hassle Free clinic once but it was too crowded. I didn't want to wait around.
