There are probably hundreds of threads but still wanted to post a fresh one to calm myself down. So in my latest regular urinalysis there is a trace of blood (it happened about three years back too when a couple of consecutive urine samples contained traces of blood so my urologist had to do a cystoscopy to make sure everything was in order) so he ordered a repeat test along with some STD tests (see the attached image). My questions:
1) what are these STDs and how likely is it to contract those STIs through hobbying (all I get is bbbj/cim from agency girls, nothing more - no DATY, not so much DFK, rimming probably once or twice)? 2) can I go to Lifelabs like regular lab tests? 3) I live in Ontario/Peel, if I get detected what will be the obligation to inform my wife? Can it be me informing her (and she informing her doctor to get tested and treated (we have different primary doctors)) or pubic health will inform her?

If all you are doing is BBBJ then your chances of getting HIV is very low.

You could however get other STIs depending on the provider. The doctor seems to be checking for Chlamydia, and yes that is a bacterial infection and can be cured via antibiotics.

If you get tested positive, then yes, you need to inform your wife to make sure she gets treated.

But in order to be sure, I would suggest going to Hassle Free and getting anonymous full panel testing including HIV. Also I suggest getting Gardasil 9 for HPV, if you are under 45 years age. I also suggest getting Twinrix for Hepatitis A&B either at Hassle Free or your family doctors.

Lastly get tested regularly if seeing providers.

Before you inform your wife, contact a divorce lawyer first. 😁😆

Go see all the pricey lawyers in your city so there is conflict of interest.

One dose of azithromycin and all is right as rain except you'll be broke from the divorce and living out of a bachelor apartment at St Clair and Vaughan and driving a 1976 Toyota Corolla.

If you test positive, public health will call you and give you this long talk about stds. They ask you questions for statistics reasons. Then they ask you to inform your partners, but it's on the honor system.

Labs are backed the hell up right now; it may be a while before you get your results. I'm surprised the Doctor didn't start him on Azithromycin immediately; that is usually Standard Operating Procedure when STDs are suspected; unless there is a shortage of that antibiotic as well.

Is this the only place to get anonymous testing? Are there places that are not all the way downtown? Maybe a little farther north.

This is the only one I know of. There may be others if you google.

The doc is f*ng with you, mate! seeing that you are a nervous wreck. Calm down!

Blood in urine (hematuria) is very common, esp if you are older. UTI, minor issues with kidneys, prostate etc...even strenuous excercise or some medications.

The cystoscopy has probably ruled out bigger problems.

Not sure , how STD came in to the docs radar. You are probably a young person and is showing signs of imminent nervous breakdown. Just chill.

Don’t tell your wife anything !

don’t engage with her and think of any excuse under the sun to not have sex until you get the results.

stomach issues, anxiety, feeling down, busy with work, stress, fishing trip with the boys…anything.

You’ll have to sharpen up your acting skills.

There are regional public sex health clinics (e.g. Peel, York), but since COVID many of them have reduced services and will only test you if you have symptoms. You can use teletest.ca but it's not as anonymous because you have to pay with a credit card and they email you when your results are in. You might be able to use a prepaid CC and a fake email.

@hotbong By chance did you do to the Mississauga walk-in on Hurontario/Queensway? That sheet looks very familiar. 😁
It's a standardized form.

They do anonymous HIV testing, but if I recall, that's it.

Everything else is through OHIP and it ain't anonymous. It's on the books.

No you dont have to present OHIP at all. I have never presented OHIP there.

For everything other than HIV, they definitely require your OHIP card.

I have been there a few times for testing over the years and they will only do anonymous HIV testing. Everything else, they want your card and you're in the file. If you test positive for syphilis, you get reported to Health Canada.

But you don't have to believe me, read HFC's website

"Q: Do I need an Ontario health card?"

I would say there is a 0.0000% chance of you getting HIV from your activities. And this is rounded to the nearest decimal point. It is virtually impossible to contract HIV from bbbj. And this would be even with someone infected.

Not sure about the other STIs, but I imagine you have very little to worry about.

Your place!!
Blood in urine sounds less like an STD and more like a UTI or a kidney infection. The fact you have had this happen before also suggests something else going on. That may be reassuring in relation to your spouse but I would be very diligent in finding out what the hell is going on because blood in urine can be a sign of serious ailments.
A friend noticed a bit of blood in his urine and after tests he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Had the cancerous tissue removed, but six months later symptoms back and had to have another surgery! Best to get this checked out thoroughly!

I felt like I should provide an update here since there are so many helpful replies. I never got the STD tests done. About a year later the lab found a similar trace of urine as well as some protein and I was referred to nephrologist. After many many tests and visits finally I am told I probably have a harmless version of igAN (the type of it that doesn’t affect kidney severely and patients can lead normal life). Coincidentally both the labs I did were right after I had flu and it’s normal to find some blood and protein in urine when you have an infection. I got the tests done when I’m healthy and it comes clean
