Just be careful their deals are only good for the first year, or first 6 months. And they can raise prices at anytime during your contract. Before you leave your current carrier try and negotiate retention deals.

Do you really need a land line? Just asking cus it could save you some $ by chopping it and jus using a cell phone. I cancelled my home phone 16 years ago and never missed it. Just saying

Got a great deal for phone and internet thru Primus. $60/month for both. Unlimited band width.

I had Rogers before and would NOT suggest you go with them. When I was at the Rogers store to return my equipment there were at least six others there doing the same OR complaining about their services! Also when cancelling my services they charged me for three more months because I didn't return my equipment, but they would take my returned equipment until I paid for my services!?!

Beyond all of these warning, if you DO decide to go with Rogers, pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION to you bills, and I'd advise ANYONE who is with Rogers to do this, as they may tack on a $3 or $4 or $7 charge for something that sounds official enough BUT IS NOTHING other then this company taking advantage of people who blindly pay their bills online or at the ATM. I caught this after about six or seven months, in fact questioned them on a few things, and ended up getting credited $115 and NEVER had those charges appear again on my bill!

BE CAREFUL with these fuckers, they gotta pay for your Blue Jays somehow, cause no one goes to their games!

the home phone will be $15 per month
the internet will be $49 per month
the tv, a service I have already, will be $60 per month.
includes all taxes, modem rental.
The packaged deal is for 2 years......
There is a $65 instalation fee which they told me they would credit me $50 the second month.
To me it looks like a $828 a year saving...

I will be phoning bell tomorro to see what they say but I only have 2 services with them so they can't match the bundel package of 3 services discount..

Once they know you're on the verge of leaving, Bell can match anything...

Don't do it!

I've had nothing but trouble with Roger's internet when I had them a couple years ago, and I don't think they've improved much since then. Besides which, if you're only paying $49 for it, it's a plan with low usage, low speeds, and low priority.

NO! NO! NO! Everyone switches OUT of Rogers, not switch into Rogers.

my suggestion is to keep rogers tv... Get internet with Teksavvy for $30+/month ... Buy a box and sign up for free phone while keeping your old landline number with Freephoneline.ca Costs $50 to buy the box and don't have to pay any monthly fee if you don't want any other plan. I'm sure there is a way to save money on TV too but I haven't done that myself... looking into options soon though.

Here in Toronto, isn't it the case that the only companies that have the actual physical infrastructure to deliver high-speed Internet are Bell and Rogers? So I'm curious as to how Teksavvy can deliver high speed Internet -- aren't they simply using the existing infrastructure from Bell or Rogers and thus have no control over speed or reliability of the service?

I'm with Primus too but I pay $82 tax in. But I have unlimited long distance in north america. Do you have that too? If there is an option to cancel long distance then I might do that.

I think you can sort of come out ahead by going back and forth from Rogers and Bell, however it takes a bit of work and its a pain in the ass!

Teksavvy lease the last mile of cable from the CO to your house from Rogers or Bell. From the CO the traffic is then carried on dedicated lines back to Teksavvy's datacentre where it is then sent out to the Internet.

I am with Teksavvy, pay $70/month including tax for a 28Mbps unlimited cable connection that usually runs somewhere about 34Mbps

Rogers really sucks - and they despise their customers!

+1 for Teksavvy - higher speeds, more bandwidth, less money

This. Just dump your TV and use internet for everything. Get a phone from Mobilicity, Wind or Public Mobile.

I pay $30 a month for my Mobilicity phone ($5 is for Blackberry), $10 for internet (cost shared in house between 5 ppl).

Since my phone is unlimited text/data it never goes over, and we never use the 300 GB of data with Teksavvy.

I do this but I do find it sometimes limiting. Every now and then it would be nice to flip on TV news. Sports seem pretty inaccessible too for casual watchers like me who might only watch a game a month, and not always the same sport.

Situation with movies is getting better, you can get newer run stuff off iTunes now if you are willing to pay for it.

All services to stay the same except the costs
Bell reduced their costs to $54.70 per month, all in.
AND!!!! apparently as the man sez " if in the future if you want to switch the TV over to us, being such a loyal custumer and all, we have a dealllllllllll for you"
As I sit here thinking of my savings for the year, I realize for me thats like free BJ's for a month.....:thumb:

Good choice you stayed. Few months ago, Rogers cable was down in my neighborhood. 3 Rogers trucks came right away to work on the street box.
Good of Rogers to come right away to fix the problem. However, some of my neighbors down the street said their home phone, internet and cable were all down. Right away you know they had everything under Rogers.

Moral of the story: Don't bundle all your services into one nest...
