I guess it depends on what you did those 7 days. For me the first few times I went to Cancun I partied hard. I was ready to go home. Especially the last time when I got Montezuma's revenge on the 2nd last day of the vacay. Likely from a food cart in Playa Del Carmen at 4:30 am.

But now yes I would not look forward to coming back to Canada, especially if it was the dead of winter. Which is why I'm looking to buy a place in Mexico or DR.

Crazy am I the only one that gets homesick after a 7 day all inclusive vacation?

tbh if I didn’t have a dog I think I wouldn’t be as homesick after a vacation 😂

Were you able to get a sun covered lounger at the beach or pool without waking up at 7:00 am? I like to take it easy on vacation rather than join the army.

Yes I agree. Guadalajara i a nice airport and vibrant city. Plus it’s close to the amazing coast of Puerto Valarta.
Interesting. Its only 45 minutes from Guadalajara. How far from Puerto Vallarta I have a couple of friends who bought in that area.

I had to book a 3-week vacation to not feel depressed on the last day. I wanted to go home, actually!

Indeed, 7 days is too short. I think 10-15 days is ideal. But I know I'll still feel that dread of going back to my routine.
I resemble that remark!

Its 4hours to Peurto Vallarta. But for 2 hours or so you are following the beautiful coastline, with many villages and beaches.

I will seriously be looking into that area in the next 3-4 years. Leaving my house here to my kids.

The real estate pricing is quite reasonable right now. Within an hour of a major airport. Tons of expats. They even recently got some major store chains so convenient.
all you need in Mexico is Chedraui!

Yeah I am staying away from there.

Mexico protest against tourist
That's Mexico City which is a bit different. I can understand the frustration of the local population they are seeing their rents go up by almost 10% per year. Americans have higher purchasing power. Mexican government is in a tough position here.

Please explain how different Mexico City is from Cancun, or any Puerto's?

Cancun is a beach resort city focused on tourism, with a focus on relaxation, water activities, and nightlife. Mexico City, on the other hand, is a sprawling metropolis
